The shirt is one item of clothing that men have plenty of opportunity to wear. For men who wear a suit to work, it's worn almost every day, and even for private occasions or formal events, a shirt is an essential part of men's formal attire, so having several on hand is always useful. At the same time, for those who wear them often, shirts tend to get dirty and are something of a consumable item, so when buying for themselves, men often prioritize cost performance. That's exactly why receiving a slightly nicer shirt as a gift is such a pleasant surprise.
What's more, simply wearing a good shirt makes a strong impression without the need for excessive dressing up. For men who often meet people through work, this can even lead to good professional connections. It also carries the sentiment of "dress nicely for your online meetings," even when working remotely. Why not give your hardworking father a shirt that will be useful to him and make him look a little more sophisticated than usual? It's a Father's Day gift that will boost the motivation of a dad who works hard at his job.

Going without a necktie has become firmly established, but a pure white shirt without a tie can sometimes look a bit too plain. That's why men like to add variety and style through the shirt's pattern or collar, and gingham checks and stripes are patterns that look sharp and make a good impression even without a tie. A blue solid-color shirt is a classic choice that pairs well with a jacket.

If you're someone who takes good care of your belongings, or who has trouble throwing things away, why not go all in and wear this shirt longer than anyone else? Shirts worn nearly every day tend to be washed often and treated as consumables, but washing them correctly can extend their lifespan considerably. So, to finish off, here's a simple guide to caring for your shirt.
1. First and foremost, deal with each day's dirt on the same day. Check the care label sewn into the inside of the shirt.
2. Dirt tends to build up most around the collar and cuffs, since these areas come into direct contact with the skin and rub against it. It's best to spot-wash these areas before putting the shirt in the washing machine. Gently scrub with a soft brush, being careful not to damage the fabric.
3. Fold the shirt with the inside facing out, place it in a laundry net, and then put it in the washing machine. Using a net helps protect the fabric from damage. Folding the shirt inside out is also recommended so the buttons don't hit and get damaged against the washing machine drum.
4. Use a light spin cycle so that wrinkles don't set into the fabric. When hanging the shirt to dry, use a hanger and dry it in a shaded, well-ventilated spot. A thicker hanger is recommended, as it helps the shirt keep its natural shape. Once on the hanger, fasten the second or third button from the top before air-drying in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can damage the fabric—white shirts in particular can become yellowed from sun exposure.
5. Bring the shirt in while it's still slightly damp and iron it—this makes wrinkles easier to remove and gives a cleaner finish. (Please note that this care guide is for reference only. Care instructions may vary by item, so please check the care label before proceeding.)

Add water and one capful of iron water to your home steam iron before using. Ironing your clothes with this will leave them with a refreshing scent—a great option even for those who aren't fond of perfume.
