Spring pajamas. A refreshingly comfortable organic material that adapts to both "a little chilly" and "a bit too warm"

Mornings are still chilly, but by midday you find yourself breaking into a gentle sweat. It's a season when changeable weather and the gap between morning and evening temperatures can leave both body and mind feeling worn out, but the best way to reset that fatigue is to "sleep well." Sleeping well doesn't simply mean spending more hours in bed—it means falling asleep naturally the moment you slip under the covers, sleeping deeply, and waking up refreshed, even if the total time is short. This is what we mean by "good sleep." This time, we'd like to introduce a soft, comfortable, high-quality pajama made of organic cotton that helps bring about good sleep in spring.

What should you wear to sleep as the seasons change?

How many pairs of pajamas do you own? For winter, there are brushed flannel materials or fluffy, thick fleece-lined types. For summer, short-sleeved gauze fabrics that absorb sweat and keep you cool. But what about pajamas for spring and autumn? During these transitional seasons, some days are hot, while on other days a sudden downpour brings a distinct chill. Even though the temperature swing between morning and evening can be significant depending on the day, the reality is that, unlike in the height of summer or winter, the question of "what to wear to sleep during the changing seasons" doesn't get much attention.

Precisely because it's a season of transition, choose pajamas that ease you into sleep

As the saying goes, "In spring, one sleeps so soundly that dawn passes unnoticed" — spring is often warm and pleasant for sleeping. Many people, feeling tired and sleepy, end up dozing off in their loungewear, or wearing a T-shirt that's been demoted to pajama duty. But clothes that are out of step with the season, or everyday wear never designed for sleeping, keep true "good sleep" at bay. That's where pajamas come in. Just as changing into loungewear when you get home resets your mind, choosing comfortable, sleep-inviting pajamas can help ease you into rest.

~ Choosing pajamas for good sleep ~

[A pleasant feel against the skin]... The feeling of first slipping your arms into your pajamas is a lot like stepping into a bath—that first touch of the water. Pajamas that feel smooth and pleasant against the skin help put you in a relaxed mood.

[Ease of movement]... Even while we sleep, we move around and shift position. This tossing and turning is essential for keeping blood circulating well throughout the body. Fabric with no unnecessary seams and a flat construction allows you to move smoothly.

[No discomfort from heat or cold]... It's best to choose fabric that minimizes discomfort—cool in summer, warm in winter, and in spring or autumn, able to handle the morning and evening chill while not trapping moisture if you sweat.

[Durable enough to wash often and stay clean]... Especially in seasons when you tend to sweat, it's best to choose something you can wash thoroughly each time you wear it and keep clean.

This time, we asked Ten to Tenimuhou to create an exclusive item for ZUTTO: the [Exclusive] Jersey-Knit Cotton Long Sleeve Pajamas. These truly meet all the conditions for good sleep. Let us introduce this special pajama, made with attention to every detail.

The material we chose: organic cotton jersey knit

A thin cotton jersey-knit material that adapts to both "a little chilly" and "a bit too warm"

Even within the category of "organic cotton," fabrics can vary widely. Among them, what ZUTTO chose this time is a 100% organic cotton jersey-knit material. It's thin, with stretch in the horizontal direction, so it doesn't restrict movement like tossing and turning in your sleep. Since turning over during sleep is an important action—helping blood circulation and drying sweat—it's a key point for pajamas that allow comfortable rest. Jersey knit is the most widely used knit structure, found in sweaters, T-shirts, and underwear.

This time, we've prepared two colors: gray and navy. While organic cotton pajamas often come in ecru or pale colors, the fabric chosen this time features a heathered, mottled quality, giving the base colors (navy and gray) a nuanced look with white mixed in.

Why is organic cotton good for your skin?

Organic cotton is cotton grown and produced through organic farming. It's cultivated in fields where no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used, grown without insecticides or herbicides, and harvested only after the leaves have naturally withered. Because it relies on naturally derived methods, it's gentle enough to be favored even by those who suffer from allergic dermatitis or dry skin. It feels comfortable even against tired, sensitive skin.

In particular, the Tenimuhou products we're introducing this time use 100% organic cotton material, giving them a safe, reassuring finish. With the gentle coloring unique to organic cotton and its pleasant feel against the skin, you can wear them with peace of mind.

Tenimuhou has passed inspection by Control Union of the Netherlands and received certification under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This certifies that, throughout every stage from raw cotton to finished product, the process is managed to prevent contamination by harmful chemical substances, and that each stage has been inspected by a third-party organization. Because Tenimuhou's products undergo minimal chemical stress from raw material to processing, they retain the cotton's original natural qualities. With each wash, absorbency increases, and air-drying brings out even greater softness—truly the kind of organic cotton that fits ZUTTO's philosophy.

Whether as loungewear or as pajamas

The pajamas ZUTTO created this time with Ten to Full (Ten-i-muhou) are simple enough in design to work equally well as room wear or as sleepwear. We've prepared them in gray and navy, colors that suit any room.

Left: gray, right: navy

A soft atmosphere and a pleasant fabric feel. Where do the finer points of craftsmanship lie in these pajamas, which evoke a cool, refined sense of everyday living?

Long sleeves and long pants to handle the chill of morning and evening

Even in spring and autumn, when temperatures tend to be relatively stable, the hours from night through early morning can still feel chilly. We chose long sleeves and long pants so the body isn't needlessly cooled down.

A beautifully draping fabric across the body

Since these are pajamas meant to be worn carefree at home, it's a relief when they aren't stiff and don't create a bulky silhouette. This time, we've used plenty of organic cotton tenjiku (jersey-knit) fabric with a smooth, moist feel for the body of the garment, so that when worn, it forms a natural, beautiful drape. This silhouette—neither clinging nor loose—creates a truly exquisite wearing experience.

A loosely-cut V-neck that looks almost like a boat neck

The collar design looks like a wide-open boat neck, but it's actually a V-neck drawn in a gentle curve. With pajamas that have a collar or a design that's tight around the neck, lying down can feel bothersome and cause chafing, or sometimes even a sense of pressure. There's no tightness when putting the garment on or taking it off, and no feeling of constriction around the neck while sleeping.

Additionally, by moving the seam that's usually at the shoulder down to the arm area, the design aims to reduce tightness around the shoulders. This is so that a relaxed feeling at home isn't spoiled by any sense of constriction.

Soft elastic plus a drawstring. Roomy, wide-legged pants

The pants are cut wide, with plenty of room. Since there's ample space around the hips and thighs, the fabric never pulls tight whether you're walking or sitting, letting you stay relaxed at all times. Since the design doesn't scream "pajamas," it can naturally be worn as room wear too—for reading on the sofa or enjoying a hot drink before bed.

A relaxed free size that suits anyone

The pajamas we've prepared this time come in a free size. We had a model who is 166cm tall and one who is 158cm tall try them on side by side.

Left model: 166cm tall, right model: 158cm tall

On the 166cm model, the length is such that the wrists and ankles peek out. On the 158cm model, the wrists and ankles are just about covered. Thanks to the relaxed, draping fit, the pajamas suit people of any height.

A companion for your leisurely days off. Pair it with a comfortable, cup-equipped camisole

On weekend or holiday mornings, you might want to wake up slowly, brew coffee carefully, and enjoy the gently passing time that's unique to a day off. To pair with your pajamas, we also recommend a cup-equipped camisole for a comfortable feel.

Ribbed Cup-Equipped Camisole with Adjuster

A stress-free camisole bra to choose for a relaxed day. Many products on the market have tight elastic under the cup to keep the bust from shifting, which often leaves marks on your skin after a day of wear or leaves you feeling constrained.

The rib knit used in Ten-i-muhou's Ribbed Cup-Equipped Camisole with Adjuster stretches well and fits the body naturally without strain, making it a truly comfortable camisole. The moist, soft fabric and gentle texture seem to ease the mind—so much so that you may find yourself unable to go back to other cup-equipped camisoles.

The cups are removable, so you can swap them for ones of your own choosing. It's also nice to take them out before washing so they don't get misshapen.

Along the lower part of the cup, there's a thin elastic wrapped in fabric. Thanks to this elastic, the bust is less likely to shift, yet there's no tightness, making it perfect for relaxed days.

Bust: 79–94(cm), roughly an M to L size.

The shoulder straps also come with an adjuster, so you can fix the strap at just the right length for yourself. With a camisole bra that has no underwire, you might otherwise worry about the bust shifting unless you adjust the strap length to fit your size just right—but with this design, that worry disappears, which is a nice relief.

A relaxing combination that brings a bit of color to the everyday moments when you want to take a deep breath and unwind.

Care tips for washing, so you can enjoy these items comfortably

・Since the pajamas may bleed color during the first few washes, we recommend washing them separately.

・To keep the soft, pleasant texture, please use a laundry net.

・Please avoid using bleach or a dryer.
