Between the cold days, there are also gentle, sunny ones, and little by little you can feel spring approaching. Many of you are probably ready to set aside the dark-colored, heavy winter clothes and slip into something lighter for spring.
But late February through March is a season of transition—your heart is already leaning toward spring, yet the actual weather is still unstable, with plenty of cold days remaining.
That's why you need an outfit that bridges the gap between how you feel and the actual temperature.
Why not switch out the outerwear that sets the tone for your look to a spring coat, and on cold days go "light coat, thick knit," while on warmer days go "light coat, light inner layer"?

A light, A-line stand-fall collar coat that's not too thick—perfect for layering in spring. The crisp fabric keeps it from looking too casual, giving you a piece that creates an elegant impression.

If you wear a cotton knit underneath, you can head out with confidence even on the still slightly chilly days of March. Pairing casual bottoms like sweats with this crisp stand-fall collar coat and leather shoes creates a well-balanced mixed style.

It also pairs well with the long skirts you'll want to wear in spring, and the light IVORY color keeps even a long coat from feeling heavy. Wearing it with the collar slightly pulled down gives your look an even more effortless feel.
A ZUTTO original quilted gown coat. Soft enough to wear indoors yet warm enough for outdoor use, this piece has a charmingly relaxed fit.
Made from linen and cotton fabric quilted with a layer of batting, it has a light, crisp touch combined with the natural, warm texture and softness of kotohira-daki dyeing, so it settles naturally onto the body—and the whole piece is remarkably light.
Kotohira-daki is a dyeing method born in Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture. Using small, old-fashioned dyeing kettles passed down since long ago, craftsmen dye the fabric by hand, sensing and adjusting for Japan's shifting seasonal temperature and humidity as they work. Because it's an organic dyeing method that doesn't rely on large quantities of chemicals, the fabric keeps its natural yarn texture—not too soft, but just right.
On days with a sharp, biting wind, tuck in a hoodie to keep your neck warm. With pants, try daringly showing off your socks for a fun, casual touch.
Once it warms up, try a long T-shirt with a linen skirt. Since the quilted coat is so light, it's easy to wear casually without overthinking it—which is part of its appeal.
This is a ZUTTO original light coat that sold out last season. It's made from a fabric that answers the wish for "something with structure, softness, lightness, and warmth all at once."
Sometimes called "corrugated knit," this three-layer fabric sandwiches a polyester material between the front and back layers to add thickness and create a plush texture. The cotton double raschel used for this coat has cotton on both the front and back surfaces.
It's commonly believed that corrugated knit can only be made from synthetic fibers due to the constraints of knitting. But by modifying the knitting machines, we succeeded in stably and reliably producing a high-quality fabric with cotton on the outer and inner surfaces and polyester in between.
The benefit of having cotton on both sides is, of course, the feel against the skin. In winter you'll wear an inner layer, but in spring and autumn your skin may touch the fabric directly, and the softness of cotton is reassuring in that case. Being cotton yet still warm is one of the defining features of the cotton double raschel fabric, making it perfect for the transitional period from winter into spring.
If you want to wear the navy version of this coat into spring:
During the still-chilly days of February and March, wear a turtleneck sweater underneath. The double raschel coat has roomy armholes, so even with a thick sweater your arms won't look bulky and the silhouette stays intact. For your legs, choosing tights in a pale color keeps the look light and lively rather than heavy.

Once April warms up, wear it over a thin shirt. Since the coat has no collar, you can wrap a thin stole around your neck and still keep a clean shape. The coat has a cocoon silhouette that narrows toward the hem, so it's designed to close naturally in front without flaring out too much.
The work coat from NUOVA MAX CONF (Nuova Max Conf), which can be worn casually, has a simple design in sturdy cotton fabric. The decorative belt at the back gives the coat a silhouette that flares out slightly into an A-line shape when worn, but since it isn't too voluminous, it's recommended for those who want to wear it in a sleek, streamlined way.
True to a brand that originally specialized in making work coats for factory workers and the like, it features details that make it easy to work in, along with three handy pockets—on the left chest and on both sides at the hip—just like a proper work uniform. There are slits at the hem, so they won't get in the way when walking or crouching down.
It looks great thrown on casually, and thanks to its good balance of durable fabric and an affordable price, it also comes in handy when heading out with your kids.
In this season just before spring, try layering a hoodie over a cut-and-sew top, then wearing the coat over that. The hoodie's sweat fabric has a double-layer structure of outer and inner fabric, so it's warm, making it a great top to wear under a light spring coat as well.

For spring, pairing it with a thin shirt-fabric dress creates a light, airy look. If you choose spring-like colors like white or pink for your leggings and bag, you can create a different impression each time. Styling it this way shows that this coat can be worn both casually and femininely, making it a light coat you'll likely reach for often.

The color lineup includes versatile shades like beige, gray, and navy, and we also recommend the blue, which gives a refreshing impression.
K-WAY windbreakers give off an outdoor, sporty impression, but when paired with feminine items like dresses or skirts, they become just casual enough and can be used as versatilely as a mountain parka.
You might feel uncertain about the thin, rustling fabric, but windbreakers are made from material that blocks wind well, giving them warmth-retaining properties. And since K-WAY's signature feature is its waterproof coating, they also come with water resistance built in.
They can't replace a coat in the depths of winter, but as the season moves toward spring, by choosing what you wear underneath wisely, you can achieve both warmth and a seasonal feel.
K-WAY was a rainwear brand born in Paris in 1965. After seeing people running through the rain getting soaked, a designer came up with the idea of creating rainwear that could handle sudden downpours.
In pursuit of the ideal form—compact, lightweight, highly water-resistant, and stylish in design—this rainwear has been loved not only for everyday town use but also by people who enjoy sports, as an item that can withstand demanding conditions such as sailing, skiing, and mountain climbing. K-WAY windbreakers come in a wide range of colors, offering beautiful shades that make the heart flutter with the arrival of spring.
