Today, Tsugaru Vidro manipulates more than 100 colors, but it all started when a craftsman happened to add sand from Nanari Nagahama as a raw material. By adding sand, the colorless and transparent glass accidentally turned into a deep and beautiful green. You can feel the warmth of handicrafts from this color and the thick form that makes you feel nostalgic.

The origin of Tsugaru Vidro was that in 1949, the manufacturer Hokuyo Glass began manufacturing floats for the fishing industry. The floating balls blown up by Hokuyo Glass received a reliable quality evaluation that they are stronger than others, and in 1973, they boasted the highest production in Japan. After that, Tsugaru Vidro was born in 1977 as a result of working on the creation of handmade glass that makes the image of the nature of Aomori, using techniques such as "air blowing" cultivated through many years of floating ball manufacturing. "Sora-buki" is a technique in which melted glass is attached to a paddle and breath is blown from the other side to shape it. It is also a technique that tests the skill of craftsmen because it can be molded freely.
