The brand was launched by designer and owner Yoichi Maeda. Inspired by his father, a bespoke shoemaker, he had a longing for shoemaking from an early age and has been in the shoe industry since he was young. After various jobs to bring shoes to human hands, he is involved in planning and learns how to make shoes. The shoe maker chausser was created through such a number of experiences. The brand name means "wear" in French. We have one store in Ebisu, Tokyo, and we are expanding in seven countries around the world. Thirty years later, when I see chausser shoes at a second-hand clothing store, I want to make universal shoes that are timeless and will make you want to wear them. And I want to aim for "shoes that can be worn for 30 years" if they are maintained. With that in mind, I am aiming to make shoes that I want to wear forever.
