Post and backing are integrated

At first glance, it looks like just a post, so you might think you forgot to attach the backing. However, by changing the angle of the post, it can be transformed into a back catch. Because the post and back are integrated, there's no need to worry about the back coming off and losing your earrings, as with traditional earrings. In actual use, the lack of a back catch feels incredibly liberating. Putting on and taking off earrings can be nerve-wracking, even without realizing it, as you worry about accidentally losing the small back. While many people tend to tighten the back too much, fearing it might fall off, Baqless allows you to rotate the shaft (post) to form a T-shape and slide it in one position. This eliminates the worry of losing the earrings without tightening them, and provides a comfortable fit. Baqless's rotating shaft structure is a world-first and has been patented in Europe, the United States, and Asia. Sliding the post provides a sense of adjustment, one position at a time, right at your fingertips.

French designer Sébastien Barrière entered the jewelry industry after graduating from university and spent 20 years designing and crafting jewelry in Europe and the United States. Over the years, he repeatedly encountered women dissatisfied with the design of their earrings. "Can we make something more comfortable?" he asked his colleagues. After discussing the matter, he came up with an idea and created a prototype. Instead of a clasp, the post bent into an L-shape. After extensive research to put this structure to practical use, they eventually came across RONDA, a Swiss company specializing in the production of watch movements. RONDA's years of experience in precision watch movement manufacturing and cutting machines enabled them to mass-produce the T-shaped movement. They repeatedly prototyped and revised the design, changing the materials used for the posts and internal micro-balls and making micro-scale adjustments to the size of each component. After extensive development, they created a product they were confident in releasing to the market. After eight years of research, from conception to completion, they created the world's first earrings without a backing. Baqless was founded in Basel, Switzerland, at the end of 2018.
