SETTO, with its background as a fabric manufacturer, researches and develops blends of high-quality cotton from various countries. They spin original yarns tailored to the unique characteristics of cotton from around the world. The original yarns, which maximize the benefits of cotton, lead to a commitment to the textile's aging process and its presence.

Attention to detail is evident in the manufacturing process, where carefully selected cotton is spun into yarn, and the rotation speed of a machine part called a cam is adjusted in 0.1-second increments to create a rich and unique texture. Cotton is an agricultural product, and its quality can vary year by year, but efforts are made to fine-tune it to achieve a consistent quality.



Clothing That Becomes a Partner


SETTO continues to create comfortable clothing designed for long-term use. Launched in 2014 by Japan Blue Co., a textile manufacturer from Kojima, Okayama, known for supplying materials to brands both domestically and internationally.

Kojima, now referred to as the holy land of denim, was once an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The land, reclaimed from shallow waters, became a thriving area for cotton cultivation, which is more resilient to salinity than rice, leading to the development of the spinning industry. Since the pre-war period, as Western-style clothing began to gain popularity, the region produced student uniforms and jeans. After the war, Kojima became a representative production area for jeans, thriving through the American workwear and jeans booms. Japan Blue Co. has been continuously producing casual wear fabrics in Kojima, carrying on this rich history, and thus continues to create compelling and valuable clothing.

SETTO’s uniqueness lies in treating material development as part of design, focusing on yarn, fabric, color, and shape based on the know-how gained from textile planning and sales.
