SETTO is dedicated to the production process, carefully spinning selected cotton to further enhance its individuality. They adjust the rotation speed of a machine part called a "camb" in increments of 0.1 seconds to create a uniquely rich texture. Cotton is an agricultural product, and its quality can vary each year, but they fine-tune the process to achieve a consistent quality texture.

Clothing as a Partner

SETTO continues to create comfortable clothing intended for long-term use. Launched in 2014 by Japan Blue Co., Ltd., a textile manufacturer from Kojima, Okayama, known for supplying materials to brands both domestically and internationally.

Kojima, now referred to as the holy land of denim, was once an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea. The land, reclaimed from shallow waters, became suitable for cultivating cotton, which is more resilient to salinity than rice, leading to the development of the spinning industry. Since before the war, they have produced student uniforms and jeans as Western-style clothing began to gain popularity. After the war, through the American workwear and jeans booms, Kojima became a representative production area for jeans. Japan Blue Co., Ltd. has continued to produce casual wear fabrics in Kojima, a place with such a rich history, allowing for the creation of persuasive and valuable clothing.

SETTO's distinctive feature is its approach to material development as part of the design process. Based on the know-how gained from textile planning and sales, they focus on yarn, fabric, color, and shape. They view clothing as a long-term partner, continually creating garments that cherish the essence while discovering joy and excitement in everyday life.
