Kontex is manufactured in Imabari, known as the world’s towel capital. Since its establishment, Kontex has used natural water from the Shikoku mountain range at an altitude of 2,000 meters for product manufacturing and natural orange oil and plant-based pure soap for product washing. The factory continues to weave towels using traditional shuttle looms and TOYOTA looms. These looms operate at about one-third the speed of modern looms, allowing for a slower weaving process that does not stress the yarn, preserving the natural softness of cotton and creating a unique texture.

Founded in 1934 in the cotton weaving region of Imabari, Kontex offers products that can be used with confidence through careful selection of materials and the application of Japanese sensibility and techniques in dyeing, weaving, and sewing. Products are meticulously crafted over a long period, and only those that have been tested for comfort are sent to market.
