Originally manufacturing marine ropes and cables, the company developed the world's first machine-knitted belt in 1970, taking advantage of its advanced braiding technology. Founder Giuseppe worked as an apprentice in a yarn factory as a warehouse clerk during the summer at the age of 16, and his interest in yarn was sparked by his weekly work of loading yarn onto trucks. ATHISON handles a whopping 1,056 colors of yarn. Using traditional leather recipes and these yarns, the brand develops stylish Italian leather items.
