Kojima, now referred to as the holy land of denim, was once an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The land, created by reclaiming shallow waters, became a hub for cultivating cotton, which is more resilient to salinity than rice, leading to the development of the spinning industry. Since before the war, as Western-style clothing began to gain popularity, the area produced student uniforms and jeans. After the war, with the American workwear and jeans booms, Kojima became a representative production area for jeans. Japan Blue Co., Ltd. has continued to create fabrics for casual wear in Kojima, a place with such a rich history, enabling them to produce convincing and valuable clothing.
