DENIM JACKET

SETTO's unique denim jacket

Based on the classic early model denim jacket, commonly known as the "1st type," the G-JAN from SETTO features a sleek design with a single chest pocket. The back has a gentle curvature, creating a natural silhouette that flows from the shoulders to the waist. The shorter length gives a lively impression, making it an excellent match for dresses, wide pants, and voluminous skirts. This versatile denim jacket is easy to style not only for everyday wear but also for slightly dressier occasions.

Soft 11.5 oz Okayama Denim

The jacket is made from 11.5 oz cotton denim woven in Kojima, Okayama, a renowned denim-producing region. While the fabric is sturdy, it feels lightweight and comfortably conforms to the body from the first wear. The front patch pocket adds practicality while maintaining a clean overall design. With just the right amount of room in the body, it layers well over shirts or lightweight knits without feeling bulky. The short silhouette creates a flattering look around the waist, making it an easy choice for those with a petite frame. This piece strikes a balance between the casual nature of denim and a compact, feminine beauty, making it a reliable addition to your daily wardrobe.

Crafted by skilled artisans in Kojima, the jacket features a natural depth in its finish. Over time, the fabric will develop unique wear patterns and color fading, transforming it into a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your personal style. It will become a companion that grows richer in texture as time goes on.

Clothing That Becomes Your Partner

SETTO is committed to creating comfortable clothing designed for long-term use. The brand has been developed since 2014 by Japan Blue Co., Ltd., a textile manufacturer based in Kojima, Okayama, known for providing materials to various domestic and international brands.

Kojima, now referred to as the holy land of denim, was once an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The land, created by reclaiming shallow waters, became known for the cultivation of cotton, which is more resilient to salinity than rice, leading to the development of the spinning industry. Since before the war, as Western-style clothing began to gain popularity, the area produced student uniforms and jeans. After the war, Kojima became a representative production area for jeans, thriving through the American workwear and jeans booms. Japan Blue Co., Ltd. has continued to produce casual wear fabrics in Kojima, maintaining a legacy of credible and valuable clothing production.

SETTO's unique approach considers material development as part of the design process, focusing on yarn, fabric, color, and shape based on the know-how gained from textile planning and sales. Viewing clothing as a long-term partner, SETTO continues to create garments that cherish the essence while discovering joy and excitement in everyday life.

I worked on jeans from before the war, and after the war, the work wear boom in the United States, and the jeans boom, became a representative production area of jeans.
The characteristic of SETTO is that the development of materials is also considered as design, and it is based on the know-how obtained in planning and sales of textiles, and it is stuck with yarn, fabric, color and shape. We regard clothes as a long-term partner and continue making clothes that value the essence while finding surprises, discoveries, and pleasures in our daily lives.
