REN's artisans were captivated by the material, 【SHEEP MESH】. This sheepskin is naturally supple and soft from the start, developing a luxurious sheen with use. Originally tanned for gloves, the leather is woven like a knit fabric into a single sheet. To preserve the supple feel of the raw hide, it contains more oil than usual. Oil is also blended into the pigments used to even out the color, applied in an extremely thin layer and worked in. While sheepskin naturally has a leather-like texture that clings to the skin, this process enhances its smoothness. This material was developed in collaboration with an atelier in India, home to artisans skilled in creating leather mesh.
