The Earth was born approximately 4.6 billion years ago. It's believed that life suddenly emerged 800 million years later, 3.8 billion years ago. If we consider the Earth's birth to be midnight, then modern humans, Homo sapiens, emerged just under four seconds ago. Fairhope Graphics creates artwork that depicts the arborescence of life that has spun throughout this incredibly long history. The project began with a simple question from a child: "Are sea urchins older than dinosaurs?"
The timeless universality of the natural world is expressed in delicate watercolor paintings. Supervised by experts and based on deep knowledge and research, these art posters pique intellectual curiosity, regardless of age. In addition to framing, we also recommend displaying them on a poster hanger. This makes a great gift.
Unraveling 3.8 Billion Years of History
This poster is sized to be the centerpiece of any room, and features meticulous detail that will make you want to gaze upon it closely. It's made with the same thick paper as a standard poster, ensuring durability. Two versions are available:
A History of Existing Life (Evolutionary Tree Diagram)
*Includes an explanatory booklet and evolutionary question cards
This tree diagram depicts the evolutionary process of living organisms, illustrating the branching and evolution of life from single-celled organisms to plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms. It comes with an explanatory booklet and question cards (all in English) that provide conversation-inducing questions, such as, "Are birds more closely related to bats or crocodiles?" and "Did dinosaurs roam on grass?"
This print is created using giclee printing, a technique characterized by vivid expression, created by spraying ink onto paper. It's laminated for durability.
A History of the Earth
※Includes Earth timeline cards and four colored strings
This chart depicts the evolution of plants and animals throughout the ages, both living and extinct, and also illustrates climate change and continental drift in chronological order. It also includes cards and four colorful strings to deepen your understanding. One side of the card lists the timeline and events (e.g., 4.5 billion years ago - formation of the moon, 225 million years ago - appearance of the first dinosaurs and mammals, etc.). By taping the cards to the strings according to the explanations on the other side, you can visually grasp the length of history.
Many phylogenetic trees, or tree diagrams depicting the evolution of ecosystems, are academic in nature, and it's rare to see one that can be beautifully drawn and displayed like this. The included tools for deepening understanding make this a practical art form that will also help your child learn.
Enjoyable for both adults and children
Fairhope Graphics' beautiful designs are inspired by the phylogenetic tree drawn by Ernst Haeckel, the German biologist who contributed greatly to Darwin's theory of evolution. Like Haeckel's biological illustrations, which are also highly regarded as art books, Fairhope Graphics' posters are beautiful enough to be displayed or picked up, even if you're not interested in phylogenetic trees.
Supervised by experts, they can also be used as educational posters. Enjoyable for both children and adults, they offer insights into how the plants and animals we see every day originated, and what the shapes of extinct creatures were like. Research findings often update the content, making them a fun and educational art form.
Delivered in a tube, they make a great gift. They pique curiosity and make a great housewarming or moving gift, or a gift for a child starting school. You can also choose this poster as a gift for your family, close friends, or partner if you think they would like it.

"Are sea urchins older than dinosaurs?"
Fairhope Graphics began in 2012 with a simple question, which became a family summer project. This learning led to the creation of art posters tracing the evolutionary systems of all life on Earth. By delving into the research findings of evolutionary biologists around the world and studying the meticulous techniques of 19th-century naturalists, Fairhope Graphics has established a unique graphic style that combines scientific accuracy with artistic beauty.
Today, Fairhope Graphics is highly regarded by educational institutions such as science museums, natural history museums, zoos, and botanical gardens, and is a valuable resource for communicating the wonders of the world's biodiversity and the evolution of life through beautiful art.
