Designers Naomi Suwa and Mikako Kanaya have both been involved in planning within the Japanese knit industry for many years. "When I wanted to work on shaping the garments themselves, becoming a knit designer allowed me to choose materials and yarns for planning. I find it very enjoyable to see a person's thoughts reflected in a product during the process from a single thread to a finished item. Even seemingly ordinary shapes can take form simply by changing one’s awareness and perspective; that’s the charm of knit planning.
