The RHOMBE Earth series from Lyngby Porcelaen features a calm earth tone that differs from white porcelain, adding a gentle expression to your dining table. The soft hues reminiscent of soil and stone in nature enhance the presence of your dishes without overpowering them, seamlessly blending into your daily meals. The symmetrical relief pattern creates subtle shadows that change with the light, giving an elegant touch to even the simplest of meals.
Named "RHOMBE," which means diamond shape, this series is reconstructed from an archive design dating back to the 1960s. The rim is adorned with delicate reliefs that radiate outward from the center, reminiscent of artichokes. The understated and refined form conveys functional beauty, allowing it to be used continuously without being influenced by the passage of time. In the Earth series, this iconic relief stands out even more, showcasing depth of color that differs from white, creating a more three-dimensional appearance.
Simple Beauty
The color palette of the Earth series consists of nature-inspired tones such as Marble, Clay, Moss, and Slate, which do not interfere with the colors of your dishes but instead enhance the allure of the materials themselves. These colors have been carefully selected by the Copenhagen-based design duo Stilleben. Stilleben has collaborated with Lyngby Porcelaen in the past, thoughtfully interpreting the brand's shapes and reliefs through the element of color. This series is characterized by the selection of colors based on the size and purpose of the vessels, rather than offering the same four colors across all sizes. This approach prevents monotony when coordinating the series, creating a natural rhythm.
The bowls are available in two sizes: 13cm and 15.5cm. The 13cm bowl is slightly larger than a rice bowl, making it suitable for breakfast items like yogurt, fruit, and cereal, as well as for serving side dishes, salads, and mixed dishes. The 15.5cm bowl can accommodate hearty soups, small rice bowls, and noodle servings, and its depth makes it ideal for dishes with a lot of liquid. They can be combined within the series or paired with classic white pieces without any clash, adding depth to your table setting. These bowls make excellent gifts for cooking enthusiasts, perfect for birthdays, wedding celebrations, or housewarming gifts.
Lyngby Porcelaen products are produced not only in Denmark but also in Portugal, Germany, Thailand, and China. The manufacturer's representatives carefully select production partners with the appropriate techniques for the shapes, materials, and glazes of the products, even changing production sources for the same series based on glaze differences. Each piece is meticulously crafted, inheriting the methods established at the time of the company's founding, ensuring that the high quality of Lyngby Porcelaen products is maintained through this commitment to craftsmanship.
"Pure Functional Beauty"
Founded in 1936 as a porcelain manufacturer in Kongens Lyngby, north of Copenhagen, Lyngby Porcelaen has its roots in "Holst & Knudsen," a pioneering Danish ceramics company established in 1904. At that time, porcelain was imported from major manufacturers in Central Europe, but in the early 1930s, the import of inexpensive German porcelain nearly ceased, prompting the establishment of their own factory. Strongly influenced by the rationalism and functionalism of the Bauhaus movement, the brand embraced the idea that simplicity and functionality are beautiful, contrasting sharply with the decorative porcelain that was mainstream at the time, and providing a fresh impression to many.
The factory was closed in 1969 but resumed production in 2012. With "pure functional beauty" as its brand concept, it merges traditional craftsmanship with advanced production techniques, creating new products that faithfully reproduce past archives while inheriting the brand's DNA.

Lyng by Porcelaen was founded in 1936 as a porcelain maker in Conges Lunview, Copenhagen. In the early 1930s, when the import of cheap German porcelain was almost stopped, the factory was set up in-house, and it was a simple design that eliminated unnecessary decorations created from the rational and functionalist ideas of the Bauhaus movement. Strongly influenced by the idea that functional things are beautiful, the design incorporates the idea of simplicity and functionality and made a fresh impression on many people. They still carry on the beliefs of the time, combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced production technology under the brand concept of "pure functional beauty" and inheriting the faithful reproduction and DNA of past archives. We are creating new products.
