For this reason, in France, where MAILOU TRADITION is based, there is a culture of carrying a "doudou," a piece of fabric or stuffed animal, close to them from an early age like a talisman. It's said that most children have at least one favorite doudou. Children take their doudou with them not only when they sleep or at home, but also when they go out or travel. It also plays an important role in helping children develop independence and providing a sense of security when they leave their parents' home for the first time at daycare or kindergarten. Even when children need a doudou less and less as they grow, it remains a precious friend they treasure for life as they spend their early years together.

MAILOU TRADITION is a handmade stuffed animal manufacturer founded in 2011 by a group of experienced seamstresses in Chateaubourg, France. Their products have garnered a reputation for their high quality and exquisite designs, and in 2015, they received the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV)" certification from the French government. EPV is a designation awarded to companies in France that preserve traditional techniques and manufacturing methods and produce superior products.

In 2019, they became part of the Doudou et Compagnie brand. In order to preserve stuffed animal making as a traditional French craft, they continue to handcraft each and every one of their products in Brittany, France, without resorting to simplistic production or manufacturing processes.
