When exploring the history of soap in Japan, it is said to have been brought over by Southern Barbarians' ships from Portugal in the 16th century, alongside firearms. Initially used for medicinal purposes, soap later became a daily necessity and cosmetic item. At that time, there were two major soap manufacturers in Portugal, but now only CLAUSPORTO remains, making it the oldest in the country. Since its founding, it has continued to produce high-quality, fragrant soap using traditional machinery, beloved in over 50 countries worldwide.

Soap Like Perfume

The MUSGO REAL collection, which began in the 1930s, was originally a men's grooming line. However, as times changed, so did the fragrances, and it is now cherished as a unisex collection. Despite these changes, the respect for CLAUSPORTO's over 130 years of expertise remains unchanged, with a strong sense of tradition and quality embedded in all products of the collection.

CLAUSPORTO's soap, referred to as "fragrance jewels," exudes exquisite aromas sourced from the fragrance capital of Grasse. Much like a perfume, it allows you to enjoy top notes, heart notes, and base notes. While it does not change fragrance over time like a perfume, the soap offers a delightful experience with its three-layered scent.

The beautiful packaging is also a charm of CLAUSPORTO. Since shortly after the brand's founding in 1953, they established a printing house within their factory, focusing on original design packaging. The design, passed down through the years, symbolizes Portuguese aesthetics and craftsmanship. The current MUSGO REAL packaging continues this tradition, featuring a black base with Art Deco-style lettering and a golden crown motif, exuding a quiet elegance. Traditionally Crafted Soap

The soap manufacturing process has remained unchanged over time, using environmentally friendly, 100% biodegradable plant-based cleansing ingredients, completely free from chemicals. To prevent the soap from crumbling and to ensure longevity, the raw materials are kneaded three times. After finely grinding the paste particles, further compression achieves the desired softness. Then, a subtly fragrant essence is added, resulting in a smooth finish. The soap is cut into bars, and each piece is engraved one by one while operating a pedal machine. Afterward, they are carefully rested for 2 to 3 weeks before being meticulously wrapped, completing the process.
