Hideo Mitsuda, the founder and craftsman of MARVELETS, was influenced by his mother, a couture designer, and worked as a fashion designer in Paris, France. During that time, he was struck by the allure of leather and the fascinating process of its treatment when he visited a bag factory run by a senior designer. This experience later became the catalyst for starting MARVELETS. Unlike clothing, which typically goes through many hands before completion, bags can be dyed to the desired color and almost entirely handmade by one person, which captivated Mitsuda. He moved to Okayama Prefecture to dedicate himself more to bag production and launched MARVELETS.

"Things that deepen in richness over time" and "things that fade yet grow more cherished." This is the concept of craftsmanship that Mitsuda envisions. People in Europe know the value of using things for a long time, which enhances their worth. The bags designed by Mitsuda, influenced by this European culture, reflect a unique sensibility that is timeless and one-of-a-kind.

Mitsuda personally oversees all aspects of pattern making, sewing, dyeing, and finishing for MARVELETS bags, with all important parts done by hand. He is also committed to using natural materials and plant-tanned leather, combining leather with materials like hemp and wool, and applying a finishing process based on an original recipe. The exquisite blend of long-cultivated sensibility and craftsmanship creates bags with a unique texture reminiscent of antiques, characteristic of MARVELETS.
