Development Combining Passion and Technical Skill

Sebastien Barrière, a French designer, entered the jewelry industry after graduating from university and spent 20 years involved in jewelry design and production in Europe and America. Throughout this time, he frequently encountered the dissatisfaction women had with the structure of earrings. "Isn't there a more comfortable option?" he pondered, discussing with colleagues until they arrived at an idea and created a prototype. This idea involved a structure where the post bends into an L-shape instead of using a catch. To bring this concept to fruition, extensive research led him to the Swiss company RONDA, which specializes in manufacturing watch movements. Utilizing RONDA's long-cultivated precision manufacturing technology and cutting machines, they achieved mass production of the T-shaped design. They made several prototypes and adjustments, changing the materials of the post and internal micro-balls, and modifying the sizes of each part at a microscopic level to perfect the product. After a long development process, they confidently introduced a product to the world. After eight years of research from conception, the world's first catchless earrings were born, launching in Basel, Switzerland, at the end of 2018.
