ALONGU

ALONGU is a tableware brand born from the perspective of "enjoying the present state of Japanese cuisine while hinting at its future." It seeks to create versatile tableware that does not limit itself to specific culinary genres, based on the evolving Japanese dining table that has embraced diverse food cultures. The product design is led by Jin Kuramoto, who develops a collection focused on the forms of plates and bowls while referencing modern Asian tableware styles.

At the heart of this brand lies the context of "living vessels" nurtured by the production area of Hasami in Nagasaki Prefecture. These pieces are designed for everyday use—washed, stored, and used again—while valuing the importance of continuity within this cycle. ALONGU enhances the "freedom of use" to align with the diversification of contemporary dining. Drawing inspiration from local production activities and agriculture in Hasami Town, the brand also works towards waste reduction through its production cycle, reflecting the makers' commitment in the nature of their products.
