A standout feature of the 35L Global Travel Pack is its main storage compartment's design. Unlike traditional backpacks that only allow access from the top, making it difficult to see all your belongings and retrieve items from the bottom, the 35L Global Travel Pack employs a full clamshell structure that opens wide like a suitcase. When you fully unzip it, you can easily see and pack all your items. Of course, you can also open just the top to access only what you need, allowing you to avoid spreading everything out at security checkpoints or on hotel floors. It includes a separate, padded sleeve that can accommodate a 15-inch laptop and a 13-inch tablet, making it easy to pull out your devices during inspections. On both sides, there are pockets for bottles and foldable umbrellas, allowing you to keep drinks and rain gear separate from your main luggage.

As your load increases, weight becomes a concern, but comfort while wearing the backpack has also been prioritized. The back panel incorporates a reinforced polymer resin frame that supports vertical loads while flexibly adapting to body twists. This frame helps distribute weight evenly, preventing strain on your back and shoulders, even on days when you're carrying heavier items like laptops or camera gear. The cushioned back panel, combined with retractable shoulder straps and a removable breathable waist belt, allows you to adjust how you carry the pack based on the amount of luggage and distance traveled.

For security, it features an RFID-blocking pocket to prevent skimming and a hidden pocket for a smart tag to help prevent loss. A security loop runs along the zipper rail, allowing you to thread the zipper pull through it, ensuring that it won’t accidentally open in crowded places.

The fabric is made from 420 denier recycled nylon with a PFAS-free water-repellent finish. The zippers are weather-resistant to prevent water intrusion, allowing you to move actively without worrying about the weather. With ease of packing, reduced burden when worn, and security features, this backpack minimizes the small stresses you encounter throughout your journey—from packing before departure to retrieving devices at security checkpoints and moving to the boarding gate.

Design Born from Nature

Matador, founded in 2014 in Boulder, Colorado, began with the vision of its founder, Chris Clearman. The inspiration struck when he saw people sitting on their jackets and thick blankets on the dew-soaked grass in a San Francisco park. He thought that if there were a compact, packable mat that could be taken anywhere, people could relax more easily. This led him to start creating blankets in his garage, resulting in a waterproof blanket that fits in your pocket.

Leveraging his experience as a product designer, Chris began to create travel and outdoor items he loved, and Matador evolved into a brand known for ultra-light travel gear. Through his extensive travel experiences, Chris understands the importance of reliable travel products and emphasizes durability for long-term use. He continually strives to design long-lasting products tested in the natural, rich environments of Boulder, including mountains and rivers.
