The texture changes expression with every ray of light. The INDIGO Sashiko Jacket from FOB FACTORY offers a unique world of indigo that differs from denim. Inspired by the Czech military jackets of the 1950s and 60s, this Mao collar style presents a distinctive balance that sets it apart from standard work jackets, making it a simple yet impactful piece.
Depth Created by Indigo Threads and Sashiko Weaving
The material is made from 100% cotton sashiko fabric, using indigo threads for both the warp and weft. While it employs the same rope-dyed threads as denim, the unique weaving of sashiko creates a three-dimensional texture on the surface. This texture accentuates the shades of indigo, resulting in a depth of expression that is distinctly different from typical denim. Sashiko has historically been used for sturdy fabrics like fire-fighting jackets and martial arts uniforms, but by intentionally weaving it more softly, we achieve a comfortable feel that maintains thickness without being stiff. This material allows you to enjoy the process of indigo fading and the changing shadows of the texture as you wear it over time.
The design features a slightly lower chest pocket, achieving a unique balance that differs from basic work jackets. The front's laurel tack buttons offer a subtly vintage detail that harmonizes naturally with the rugged atmosphere of the sashiko fabric. The body has a comfortable amount of room while maintaining a clean vertical silhouette. The balance allows for easy layering over shirts or t-shirts, making it adaptable to temperature changes. Although it is a men's size, it can also be worn by women depending on the size chosen, making it versatile and unisex. Pairing it with denim or chinos creates a work-style look, but it can also be dressed up slightly with slacks. The fabric itself has a strong presence, ensuring that even simple outfits are well-styled.
The three-dimensional quality of sashiko and the aging of indigo. The INDIGO Sashiko Jacket from FOB FACTORY deepens in expression the longer you wear it.
A Brand from Kojima, Proudly Representing the World
Located at the southern tip of Okayama Prefecture, Kojima is a town renowned for its textiles and a proud producer of denim. FOB FACTORY began its journey in 1992, with artisans coming together to create clothing in this region. Having experienced various denim trends, including Levi's, the vintage clothing boom, and the emergence of numerous imported denim brands, they arrived at a philosophy that values clothing that, after two to three years of wear, makes you feel glad you bought it. They aspire to create garments that positively impact the lives of those who wear them. With a craftsmanship-oriented approach to made in Japan denim, they focus on the threads, fabrics, sewing, buttons, and zippers that they truly believe in. By leveraging the fabrics they develop and the skills they possess, and by considering the body and lifestyle of the wearer, their designs naturally and inevitably come to life.

Kojima, a textile town located at the southern tip of Okayama Prefecture, is a world-class denim producing area. FOB FACTORY, which makes clothes with all the craftsmen there, started its activities in 1992.
After experiencing a number of denim booms, I want to make a positive impact on the lives of people who wear clothes that I think I should have bought a few years after wearing them, not just the ones that I see. I arrived at the thought.
Made in japan denim that is popular for its craftsmanship, such as the manufacturing method using old American sewing machines, the selection of original fabrics, and the traditional dyeing of medium white. It is a manufacturing that pursues what you think is really good, such as threads, fabrics, sewing, buttons and fasteners.
