A simple shape reminiscent of a supermarket shopping bag, complete with handles. The MARVELETS LELILUSU L is crafted from shrink nylon with a vintage military vibe and leather that has undergone product dyeing. This generously sized bag has ample width, making it perfect for carrying documents, a change of clothes, or shopping items. Despite its large capacity, its unpretentious shape ensures that it remains manageable.
Spacious and Expansive Capacity
On days when you have a lot to carry, a bag needs to be both easy to pack and comfortable to hold. With a wide opening and a shape that adapts to its contents, the LELILUSU L is the reliable bag you can count on for such days.
The main body is made from shrink nylon, reminiscent of vintage military nylon from the 1980s and beyond. The fabric is woven from Taslan processed yarn and treated with a salt shrink process, resulting in a surface with fine texture that combines a soft, cotton-like feel with the lightweight properties of nylon. This lightweight characteristic ensures that even a large bag doesn’t become cumbersome. With a matte finish that minimizes shine and a fabric that naturally shows wrinkles, any creases from packing or folding are less noticeable, allowing for carefree handling. It also features weak water resistance, so you won’t have to worry about sudden light rain or splashes.
The wide silhouette allows for easy accommodation of an A4-sized file, along with a cardigan or a folding umbrella. The gusset is a folding gusset, allowing the bag to flatten when not fully loaded, and expand into a three-dimensional shape when filled. Its size makes it convenient for days when you borrow books from the library, do weekend shopping, or need a sub-bag when your luggage increases while traveling.
The handles are made from leather parts. MARVELETS’ unique over-dyeing (product dyeing) process deepens the color over time, subtly changing the contrast with the nylon.
For those who typically carry fewer items or prefer a vertical silhouette, we also offer the LELILUSU S.
Bringing French Values into the Bag
Hiroji Mitsuda, the founder and creator of MARVELETS, was influenced by his mother, a couture designer, and worked as a fashion designer in Paris, France. During that time, a visit to a senior designer's bag factory opened his eyes to the charm of leather and the joy of processing it, which later inspired him to start MARVELETS. Unlike clothing, which typically goes through many hands before completion, bags can be dyed to the desired color and nearly handmade by one person, which is part of their appeal. Drawn to this charm, Mitsuda moved to Okayama Prefecture, where he could dedicate himself more to bag production, and thus MARVELETS was born.
"Things that deepen over time" and "things that fade yet grow more cherished." This is the concept of craftsmanship that Mitsuda envisions. Europeans know the value of using things for a long time, enhancing their worth. The bags designed by Mitsuda, influenced by European culture, reflect a unique sensibility that is timeless yet one-of-a-kind.
Mitsuda oversees all aspects of pattern making, sewing, dyeing, and finishing, with all critical parts done by hand in MARVELETS bags. Additionally, he is committed to using natural materials and vegetable-tanned leather, combining leather with materials like hemp and wool, and applying a finishing process based on an original recipe. The exquisite interplay of long-nurtured sensibility and technique results in bags that possess a unique texture reminiscent of antiques, characteristic of MARVELETS.

MARVELETS started in 2006. Shuji Mitsuda, who was active as a fashion designer in Paris, France, was shocked by the charm of leather and the fun of processing, which was the reason for the brand. Mr. Mitsuda, who plays the roles of craftsman and designer alone, creates one prototype by doing all of the patterning, sewing, dyeing, and finishing with his own hands. Leather is procured at the initial stage called "crust" before Nume leather, and in general, the part that Tanner does is done by himself and made into the particular leather. All the production process is done in Japan, and all the important parts are done by hand. MARVELETS bags are made by combining natural materials such as linen and wool in addition to leather, and finishing with original recipes. By doing so, the unique texture of MARVELETS is born, which gives it an antique atmosphere.
