This summer, due to the recent extreme heat, it seems that preparation for the heat will be more essential than ever. While using air conditioning is a must, we also want to be mindful of energy conservation. Additionally, we need to find a balance in our daily lives with proper ventilation to refresh indoor air and privacy solutions to shield ourselves from the outside world.
In this context, what we want to prioritize is living comfortably without strain. Why not incorporate some ideas to gently cool the indoor temperature while enjoying a pleasant breeze? In this order event, we will introduce the "shade," which softens sunlight and creates a refreshing space while allowing airflow.
Create a Comfortable Shade Inside Your Room with ichiori shade
The shade is an item that, when installed outside the window, softens the strong sunlight coming indoors and helps to keep the perceived temperature down. The ichiori shade, crafted by Ichikawa Textile Factory, features a special weaving technique that allows for a balance of light permeability and breathability.
Instead of relying solely on air conditioning, it is becoming increasingly important to use natural methods to mitigate external heat and allow airflow, keeping indoor temperatures as comfortable as possible.
The ichiori shade aims to replicate the gentle dappled sunlight of nature. The soft light filtering through the gaps in the leaves and the pleasant shadows swaying in the breeze create a soothing atmosphere, providing a comforting moment even on hot days.
Designed to take advantage of transparency, it does not completely block out light but rather softens it while allowing some to come in. It creates a comfortable shade without becoming too dark, maintaining a natural brightness.
Additionally, it serves as a soft barrier against outside views. It protects privacy on balconies and window sills while maintaining a light and airy space without feeling cramped. (The degree of transparency varies by color.)
Here are some other situations where this shade can be useful:
- To hide laundry drying on the balcony
- To slightly reduce indoor temperature rise
- To prevent strong direct sunlight from hitting plants and create gentle shade
- For heat protection when children are playing in the garden or on the balcony
- To provide shade for balcony plants
Easy Installation
Step 1
The installation hardware specifically for the sash is included. Insert it into the top of the aluminum sash window frame as shown in the photo, and gently and securely fix it with two screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 2
After installing the other side in the same manner, hook the grommet holes on the shade body onto the left and right brackets.
Step 3
Tie installation ropes to the two grommets at the bottom of the shade body. The other end of the rope should be secured to the balcony railing, wooden deck, or a heavy potted plant. The key to a neat installation is to pull it taut enough so it doesn’t get blown around by the wind.
