Edo kiriko is a Japanese cut glass manufactured from Edo period. Edo kiriko has beautifully engraved patterns on the surface and always fascinates us. The glass is the result of the traditional technique of cut glass passed down for more than 170 years.
Unique design of Edo kiriko
Using a diamond wheel, Edo kiriko gains finely engraved patterns. Usually, these patterns are based on flowers and fruits. The design for Saihou's Edo kiriko is based on traditional patterns, and the production is done by highly experienced craftworkers.
The pattern of Kenbishi Nanako has diamond shapes with sharply pointed edges. The edge imitates swords which have been thought as one of the sacred treasures in Japan. The pattern also imitates scales of fish too.
The colors of pink and green make a unique beauty of Edo kiriko. It is packaged in a wooden box and would be a perfect gift item.
