The Vlas Blomme linen tunic shirt is a feminine, soft, and comfortable piece to wear. Linen's unique moisture-wicking, quick-drying properties, heat retention, and humidity control make it a versatile tunic shirt that can be worn all year round.
Dress lightly
This linen tunic shirt is crafted from 60-count Koltrak linen plain weave. This fabric is named "KL Heritage" (tradition and inheritance) because we want to treasure it as a staple fabric for Vlas Blomme. Made with relatively fine yarn, it's just the right thickness, firm yet soft, with a smooth feel against the skin. Its breathability makes it perfect for seasons with frequent temperature changes, from spring to fall. It's also recommended as an inner layer for knitwear in winter.
This stand-up band collar and large, rounded placket evoke the image of an antique shirt. Fastening the top button creates a neat and clean look. Leaving it unbuttoned creates a casual look, allowing you to mix and match it to suit your style. While it's comfortable to wear, slits on both sides and tapered neck and sleeves create a clean silhouette. The hem reaches above the knee, so we recommend pairing it with pants or a skirt underneath.
The charm of linen is that its texture changes with wear and care. Enjoy watching it gradually soften and conform to your body.
Colt Lake Linen Discovered
Vlas Blomme was founded in 2007. The brand name means "linen flower" in Flemish, the language of the Flanders region of Belgium. The brand offers natural yet fashionable clothing made with linen from Kortrijk, Belgium, a city that has flourished as the center of the linen industry for centuries. The products, born from a quest for the finest linen, are sold in top-class stores around the world, including in London, Paris, and New York.
Linen is water-resistant, and the more it is washed, the softer and more textured it becomes, as the threads become thinner than cashmere. The more it is used, the more it develops its character and becomes a part of everyday life. Searching for the finest linen to complement such lifestyles, we found Belgian Kortrijk linen. Kortrijk linen is the collective name for the finest flax yarn of the year, grown on the farms of the Belgian linen spinning mill Jos Vanneste. Linen has been cultivated in the Flanders region of Belgium since prehistoric times, and the Leie River, also known as the "Golden River," flows through Kortrijk, playing an important role in the linen manufacturing process. The mild climate with moderate rainfall is ideal for linen cultivation, and the region continues to produce a stable variety that takes advantage of the region's advantages.
Kortrijk linen, whose quality has been maintained through years of know-how, is known for its fine fibers and high quality. As a natural fiber, it possesses a rustic appearance, yet is also characterized by its durability and lustre. Compared to cotton and silk, Colt Lake linen has excellent moisture absorption and dissipation properties, a smooth texture, and is gentle on the skin. Colt Lake linen, which is also the raw material for Irish linen, is highly regarded in Europe as one of the world's best quality linens.
