We have crafted a shirt dress with a collar that exudes a polished impression, designed for the modern woman to wear with confidence and ease. This special piece features a stylish long silhouette that can be worn both as a dress and an outer layer.

Ideal Texture and Details

We used a high-density, crisp fabric for this piece. The crinkled effect when rolling up the sleeves is beautifully showcased. By widening the armholes, we allow for a relaxed fit when the sleeves are rolled up, creating a three-dimensional look while maintaining a feminine silhouette without exposing the upper arms.

The collar of the shirt dress is designed with attention to the neck width. Typically, when the first button of a shirt is fastened, the collar fits snugly against the neck. We have opted for a wider neck opening, allowing for a relaxed collar that doesn’t feel too rigid even when the first button is closed. The size of the collar has also been finely adjusted to ensure a beautiful shape when worn open.

The buttons from the second button onward are hidden (placket style), resulting in a clean design where the buttons are not visible when fastened. Usually, with placket styles, the fabric can obstruct buttoning, but this shirt dress has been designed to avoid that issue, making it easy to fasten the buttons. The larger chest pocket on the left side adds a stylish accent.

The back view is equally well thought out. The back bodice features box pleats, allowing for a sleek appearance while providing a relaxed fit.

Dry Touch Typewriter Fabric

The fabric chosen for the shirt is known as typewriter fabric. This high-quality cotton textile is woven tightly with long, thin fibers, resulting in a lightweight yet crisp material that is opaque. When wet, the fibers become even denser, and with each wash and dry cycle, the fabric's strength and dry-touch texture reminiscent of washi paper become more pronounced.

The fabric has a smooth feel with a subtle sheen, allowing for an elegant look when ironed or a casual vibe when worn unpressed. We selected a striped pattern that adds character beyond a solid color, making it stylish enough to wear alone. The ivory color with gray stripes is versatile and perfect for mixing and matching.

Wear as a Dress or a Shirt Coat

One of the appealing features of this piece is its versatility in styling. With deep side slits, it pairs well with pants or leggings. You can wear it as a standalone shirt dress or layer it with a turtleneck or a tee underneath. The crisp material allows it to be worn open like a shirt coat, creating a beautiful vertical line for a chic look. We have also added pockets on both sides for practicality when worn as an outer layer.
