The items of ROKUROSHA is carefully made one by one by the craftsmen of the wooden craftsmen in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture is known as a production area of ​​Echizen lacquerware with a history of about 1500 years, and it is also cultivated for many years by craftsmen called woodworkers who make wood before lacquering using potter's wheel and planer. With different finishes of raw lacquer and black lacquer, they are both bowls that give a sense of solidity and calmness while producing different colors. ROKUROSHA is a wooden product workshop established by Yoshio Sakai, a master of wood products in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. He has studied under Reiji Yamaguchi, and learned the skills as a woodworker. After leaving the company, he refined the technique under the guidance of Masayoshi Shimizu, a traditional craftsman of Echizen lacquerware, and in 2014, started the workshop, ROKUROSHA. The concept of the brand is "redefinition of value" in which products are produced with a focus on wood, without being particular about materials and manufacturing methods, while inheriting the technique of a traditional round wood block.
