Traditional South American handicrafts

La Guajira Peninsula, far from Bogota, the capital of Colombia in South America. The indigenous peoples living on that island are the Wayu. Up to the present day, I live while protecting my own lifestyle, language and culture. Items of GUANABANA made mainly of such women of the Waiyu tribe. In the Wayu tribe, the mother taught her daughter how to knit bags and hammocks, and connected traditional techniques to posterity. Each piece is handmade and skillfully knitted using this inherited technology.

MOLA BAGS is a bag whose round shape is a little unusual. It's a simple design with no pockets, but it's just the right size for a day out when you put your wallet and handkerchief. The combination of design and color that makes full use of the roundness is also GUANABANA, so you can use it as an accessory in your usual outfit. Acrylic yarn is used for knitting yarn. Acrylic yarn has a better color than cotton and has a higher durability. This material is selected because we want it to be used regularly in our daily lives.

MOLA BAGS mixes European style with traditional handicrafts of South American indigenous people and makes full use of handmade technology and rich materials and colors. Available in black/brown/beige, with a subdued color tone, BROWN is a perfect match for autumn/winter outfits, and BLUE is a fresh combination of blue and brown based on blue. Made from the same material as the bag, the soft shoulder straps are made longer so you can tie them and adjust the length. GUANABANA is a brand founded by Almudena Espinosa in Madrid, Spain in 2007. Almudena's mother is from Colombia, so she sold sundries and accessories made by South American craftsmen such as the Wayu tribe to apparel and lifestyle shops in Spain. Taking advantage of that experience, we want to create new art-like items by fusing the craftsman's techniques that have been passed down for generations with innovative, timeless designs, and by doing so, continue to give craftsmen We started this brand with the desire to create possible jobs. The design is Spain and all production is done in Colombia.
