- Vintage German beads (glass)
Beads manufactured in the 1920s and 1940s use materials, pigments and molds that are no longer available. It seems that a small amount of metal was added to the glass by hand by a craftsman to bring out the color. Companies that were manufactured by hand in the Bohemian region, such as the former East Germany, closed shortly after World War II. In an era without computers, everything was handmade. It is a rare bead with a deep and nostalgic color that is rich in expression and made by craftsman's intuition and many years of experience.

Unlike the thin gold plating of the gold layer, the gold layer, which is 1/20 the weight of the base metal, is heat-bonded. Due to the thick layer of gold, it usually does not come off. It will fade as you use it, but one of its attractions is that it has an antique-like hue.
