This time, the outerwear ZUTTO has created is a coat made of wool-cashmere melton. Wool coats pair beautifully with winter accessories like checked patterns and fur, making them an indispensable part of cold-weather style. We wanted to make a wool coat that's even more comfortable to wear—one you'd instinctively reach for as you head out the door—so we finished it with a smooth, refined texture combined with the relaxed atmosphere of a mods coat.

When you think of wool coats, duffle coats and pea coats probably come to mind first—items that look their best when worn in just the right size. Meanwhile, the clothes worn underneath have been trending toward oversized fits year after year, which means pairing them with a just-right-sized coat can feel restrictive. This may be why many people tend to shy away from wool coats altogether. But this "Wool Cashmere Melton Hooded Coat" is an oversized design, despite being made of wool. You can wear it loosely and comfortably, with no sense of restriction.

The oversized silhouette is created by the wide sleeve width. Viewed from the side, the coat has a softly rounded form that adds a touch of cuteness. Deep tucks in the back panel also give the body plenty of extra room.

At the base of the tucks, a subtle arrow-shaped stitch has been added, and a decorative tab sits above the waist, making the back view just as lovely as the front.

The zip opens both from the top and the bottom. Since this is the kind of outerwear that's often worn open in front, having a zip at both ends lets you style it in different ways. For instance, when riding a train or car while wearing the coat, you can unzip the bottom portion for more room and comfort around your midsection. Alternatively, if you zip it up fully and fasten the flap with the snap button, the zipper stays hidden from view. Whether worn open or closed, the coat offers a different impression each time.

Because the shape is relaxed, the materials are all the more refined

With this Wool Cashmere Melton Hooded Coat, we paid close attention to material selection so that, despite the oversized fit and hood making it easy to wear casually, it wouldn't end up looking too rough around the edges. The smooth, touchable fabric is a blend of virgin wool and soft cashmere, combined with polyamide to resist losing its shape and improve durability. The melton fabric, tightly fulled and brushed, offers excellent water resistance, warmth, and flexibility. It has enough thickness to protect you from the cold, yet remains soft with just the right amount of loft rather than feeling stiff. By combining quality materials with a mods-coat-inspired shape, we've created outerwear that suits a wider range of occasions.

The coat is fully lined with cupra, a material that resists static, which also enhances its warmth. And thanks to the lining, it slides smoothly over knitwear, making it easy to put on and take off—a small but welcome detail.

The Wool Cashmere Melton Hooded Coat has a length of 76cm, which falls just below the hips on our model, who stands 164cm tall—a mid-length that's easy to pair with both denim and long skirts. You'll never find yourself thinking "this coat doesn't go with a skirt today," making it a piece you can reach for even on busy mornings.
