As winter approaches, warm knit items are what we start to crave. When warmth is the priority, knits are physically made with a lot of yarn, which often means they turn out thick and heavy on the shoulders, or delicate and vulnerable to water, requiring dry cleaning. That kind of care has always been a hassle. But times have changed. Even with "plush warmth" as a given, you can now find knits that are also "machine washable at home," "light enough not to strain your shoulders," and "high quality." That's exactly what ZUTTO is introducing this time: the BARUFY Smooth High Neck Knit Sew Pullover. With a cut-and-sew-like design that flares gently around the hips, it's a piece you'll want to reach for again and again, whether for everyday wear or going out.
A knit sew is knit fabric tailored like a cut-and-sew garment. What sets it apart from a single-piece knit is its distinctive drape and the way it can look delicate while still adding volume exactly where you want it. To create this ideal knit sew, we chose a blended yarn of bulky acrylic and wool.
The yarn, with its high loft and fluffy texture, feels just as soft as 100% wool knits, without any noticeable drop in quality. It's remarkably lighter than typical knit products, making it a great choice for winter outings where layering a sweater under down jackets or coats can otherwise leave you feeling worn out. You won't notice the stiffness or scratchiness sometimes associated with synthetic fibers—the texture is gentle and pleasantly free of itchiness. It also offers solid warmth retention. Since the knit sew fabric is washable, you can simply throw it in the wash whenever it gets dirty.
The design features dropped shoulders and a silhouette that flares toward the hem. The high neck portion isn't tight at all—it's remarkably soft. Seams run down the front and back center, creating a nice accent. These seams and the armholes are finished with a straddle two-needle stitch, turning the stitching itself into a design element.
The collar, cuffs, and hem are finished in ribbing made with the same yarn, giving it the look and feel of a sweater. Deep slits with a front-to-back height difference sit at both sides, so your outfit won't look overly long and you can wear it in a stylish, balanced way.
The overall design is relaxed and roomy, and the length is a bit longer, too. Pair it with a warm long-sleeved tee underneath, and it'll serve you well even on truly cold days.
BEIGE
On a pleasant autumn day out, when a single cut-and-sew top leaves you feeling a bit chilly even during the daytime, pair it with denim for an easygoing look. And since it's hand-washable at home, you don't need to worry if it gets dirty.
BLACK
As the first signs of winter set in, when you're heading out on a train on a day off to a favorite café, or meeting up with close friends, you want to dress as comfortably as possible. Since you'll be home by evening, there's no need for a heavy coat—just layer a functional inner layer or a long-sleeved cut-and-sew top under the knit sew to regulate your temperature.
L.GREY
Once winter's cold truly arrives, layer a cut-and-sew top underneath and throw a coat on top. Since the length is a bit longer, it also pairs nicely with a long skirt. And because each piece is so lightweight, you won't feel worn out even when bundled up warmly in a coat.
