Summer is finally here in full swing.
Even so, the ZUTTO staff
are already getting ready for winter, little by little.
Today we'd like to introduce something that has earned rave reviews every autumn and winter—
KLIPPAN, the wool brand born in Sweden.
We're excited to share the moment the samples of our three custom-order stoles finally arrived.
Here are the three samples of the 2015 original stole that arrived from Sweden.
These are the custom patterns and colors selected by ZUTTO.
The ZUTTO staff have been eagerly counting down the days
until we could finally share these stoles with all of you.
Let's introduce them one by one, trying to contain our excitement.

First is "Ines," featuring a bold pattern. Based on Bordeaux,
with pink and navy combined into the color scheme,
it adds warmth and flair whether paired with a skirt and boots
or with casual jeans.
Even the thread used to sew on the front buttons was chosen in Bordeaux to match the stole.
We intentionally left off the pockets, finishing it with a clean, streamlined form.
This is actually a revival of a popular 2014 color
that sold out shortly after release, recreated with the same specifications.
Until now, we've made a point of selecting entirely different patterns for our custom-order stoles each year
so customers could enjoy something new each time,
but we thought—wouldn't it be wonderful to bring back a design our customers loved
and continue offering it for longer? That was the thinking behind this release.

Next up, "Vinga Dark Grey" is also a revival of a 2014 design.
Thanks to its larger check pattern,
"Vinga" gives off a smart, polished impression.
The feminine check pattern pairs beautifully with the wool material, needless to say,
but a dark grey and white check like this
is a rare find within KLIPPAN's lineup—you'd expect to see it, yet it's surprisingly hard to come by.
It has a basic feel to it, yet it's anything but ordinary—a truly special piece.
We recommend wearing it in place of a jacket for a quick outing,
or draping it over your shoulders like a cardigan during relaxed time at home.
This subdued color pairs beautifully with a bright skirt or boots for a more feminine look,
while pairing it with dark jeans or a knit sweater
creates a cool, stylish silhouette—there are so many ways to enjoy it.

And now, the third one you've been waiting for—the new face of 2015.
It's "Jazz White."
This "Jazz" pattern looks like a thin stripe pattern from a distance,
but it's actually made up of a fine herringbone weave.
While the revived Ines and Vinga we introduced earlier feature bold, distinct
colors and patterns, Jazz has a more delicate design.
The color scheme uses black and a warm brown
on a white base, giving it a subtle, understated impression.
It gives feminine outfits like skirts and dresses
just a touch of sharpness.
But we also wanted it to work casually with jeans.
This piece was made with that dual purpose in mind.
Since this "Jazz" comes with a pocket,
you can head out for a quick errand nearby with just your phone and a small wallet—
simply throw on this stole and you're ready to go.

What gave the staff the most trouble was choosing the color of the stitching
used as an accent on the buttons and pocket edges.
It's a very small detail, but it's no exaggeration to say
that this stitch color can change the overall impression of the piece.
Since the base is a mature, sophisticated color, should the stitching be a softer, sweeter shade?
Would blue or green work better to tighten up the overall look?
…After weighing all these options and more, we arrived at
the most classic color of all: red.

However, once we'd decided on a shade of red,
we discovered that among KLIPPAN's range of thread colors,
there were many "reds" with subtly different tones.
From ones close to vermillion to shades somewhere between brown and red,
we selected, from among the many color samples lined up before us,
this rich, deep red.
To match the stole's color, the buttons are grey.
The pure white of freshly fallen snow.
The grey of a winter twilight.
The brown of Sweden's trees.
And the red of a warm fireplace flame.
The result is a piece that is simple,
yet evocative of the Swedish landscape—
a single stole brought together with all these thoughts in mind.

The three stoles introduced here
are scheduled to go on sale on our site in early September.
Please note that all patterns will arrive in limited quantities for 2015.
We hope this year's original stole
will be enjoyed and loved by many of you.
