As the season gradually turns toward autumn, the still-lingering heat can feel a bit wearisome despite what the calendar says. This time, we'd like to introduce glass accessories that you'll want to wear from this season onward. New items have arrived from HARIO Lampwork Factory, a brand already popular here at ZUTTO.
What comes to mind when you hear the word "glass"? Come to think of it, the glass slipper and glass castle that appear in fairy tales have long captured people's hearts and imaginations. That transparent shimmer catching the light, that fragile presence you feel you must handle with the utmost care—there's no end to the words that could describe the charm of glass. Beyond the world of fairy tales, many of you may picture summer itself: a glass of fizzy cider, a furin (wind chime) ringing out the sound of the season, or a bowl of somen noodles piled with ice. Glass items have woven themselves deeply into our daily lives, and perhaps the same holds true in fashion. That sense of "transparency" has a way of quietly capturing our hearts, and the cool, refreshing atmosphere that pure, clear glass creates makes us want to wear it always.
Glass accessories, with their clear and refreshing impression, look wonderful with a T-shirt, an autumn-toned dress, or even a fluffy winter knit. They're not just for summer—they work season after season, from autumn to winter and on into spring. The reason lies in the transparency of glass. Accessories with a strong color or material presence tend to demand a particular season or outfit, but glass, which lets the colors around it show through, gently blends into any season or wardrobe.
This time, ZUTTO asked HARIO Lampwork Factory to create hair ties with a striking yet understated glass motif.
[Exclusive] Hair Tie Futatsuami
The Hair Tie Futatsuami, with two lines of glass woven together like a braid, is a design made exclusively for ZUTTO. Despite being made of glass, it has a mysterious softness to its form. Simple yet imbued with a transparent, refined air, it carries a charm that only glass can offer. Tie it snugly to finish off an updo, and it will catch the light with a sparkle. The gently curved Hair Tie Futatsuami is perfect for a ponytail or a bun, and we recommend it for those with medium to long hair.
You can also enjoy coordinating it with the bracelet or earrings in the same motif.
[Exclusive] Hair Tie Waterfall
The Hair Tie Waterfall expresses the flow of water through glass gently crossing over itself. Its one-of-a-kind waterfall shape, as if the glass had been twisted, creates beautiful shadows and an air of maturity. The simple Hair Tie Waterfall suits both straight hair and permed hair. We recommend it for anyone looking to add a single accent point to their usual style.
A bracelet in the same motif is also available.
>> [Exclusive] Bracelet Waterfall
There's an indescribable joy—the kind that brings a smile to your lips—when a glass bracelet catches the light at the cuff of a shirt or sweater. This time, three types of bracelets have joined the collection.
[Exclusive] Bracelet Charm
Large balls, small beads. The Bracelet Charm, featuring four glass motifs in a variety of shapes, is a design made exclusively for ZUTTO. Each motif, carefully shaped by hand by a craftsman into round or diamond forms, catches and reflects the light beautifully with every movement. Though the bracelet is uncolored and utterly simple, it's an accessory that reminds us once again of the beauty of glass.
The Bracelet Charm, which rolls and shifts gently at your wrist with every movement of your arm, blends naturally while making its presence known—whether during the warm season when bare skin is on show, or in a dressed-up setting such as a wedding. Even during the long-sleeve season, it looks lovely if you roll up your shirt cuffs slightly to show off the bracelet, or if you pair it with a wristwatch.

[Exclusive] Bracelet Waterfall
The Waterfall bracelet, also introduced above as a hair tie. It expresses in glass the way water twists and trickles smoothly downward. With a motif that isn't too large, it lends a delicate, slender look to the wrist.
Bracelet Mist
The Bracelet Mist is designed to look as though a round piece of glass has been sprayed with a fine mist. Though it's a simple bracelet with a somewhat larger motif, the beautiful motif catches your eye every time you move your hand, glinting and reflecting light in a way that's hard to look away from.
Another key feature of this translucent glass motif is that the mist effect covers only half of the circle. When you look closely at the fine, grainy texture of glass that expresses the mist, you can't help but be captivated by the delicate craftsmanship behind it. Though it's just a single accent, the striking Bracelet Mist beautifully adorns your wrist.
If you want to enjoy the gorgeous, delicate forms that only glass can create, we also recommend our necklaces. We're introducing everything from designs with linked motifs to those with a single large motif.
Necklace Haku
The Necklace Haku features a square motif. Though its shape is simple, the gentle curve and smoothly cut facets of the motif give it a soft impression alongside its sharp lines. The transparent motif goes well with clothing of any color or style, as if quietly nestling alongside you. It suits designs with lace or patterns just as well, making it an easy motif to pair with any outfit.
Necklace Gloss
The Necklace Gloss features several round glass beads of varying sizes clustered tightly together. The grainy texture of the glass beads has an endearing quality, resembling dewdrops glistening in the morning light. When they catch the light, each bead shines in its own unique way. With its clear, gentle atmosphere, the Necklace Gloss pairs effortlessly with both casual outfits and dressed-up ensembles alike.
The charm of "glass accessories" is something that can't be fully captured in words. No matter how much we try to express the appeal of glass in words, there's no end to it—but once you put on an accessory from HARIO Lampwork Factory, you'll be able to feel the charm of glass directly on your skin, quite literally.
