Glass accessories with a light, cool impression, handled by
HARIO Lampwork Factory.
The way a burner heats the glass and freely changes its shape is truly a craftsman's skill.
This time, we asked HARIO Lampwork Factory,
and they made a ZUTTO exclusive necklace and earrings for us.

When creating this exclusive glass accessory,
we wanted a design that was mature rather than flashy.
HARIO Lampwork Factory's accessories are known for their intricate designs,
expressing flowers, and there are also striking pieces with large motifs.
But we thought that if there were designs that were simpler and more mature,
people could wear them regardless of their outfit.
So we chose the motif of a "BAR"—a glass rod—to keep things thoroughly simple
and let the beauty of the glass itself be felt.
[ Necklace Bar -necklace Bar- ]
For the necklace, the BAR is positioned horizontally so that it sits parallel, with both sides
fastened by a chain.
This layout highlights the beauty of the collarbone even more than a vertical arrangement would.
Not only on the front, but also at the tip of the adjuster,
a glass motif has been attached, so there's a design element on your back when you wear it.
The back view has been thoughtfully considered too.
When pursuing elegance rather than cuteness, we arrived at simplicity,
and by pairing pink gold parts on both the necklace and earrings,
an elegant impression was added as well.
Pink gold is not part of the maker's standard hardware lineup, giving it a special touch.
Since it's a shade that blends beautifully with skin tones, we hope it becomes
an item you'll reach for often in the coming season.
[ Pierce Bar -pierce Bar- ]
The earrings are chain-style American earrings.
They sway gently beside your face, giving off a translucent, glass-like impression.
A silicone catch is included, so you won't have to worry about the common issue
with chain-style earrings where you suddenly notice one has come off!
That concern is eliminated.
You can fasten them at your preferred length, so
on days when you put your hair up, you can wear them a bit longer for a bold presence,
and when wearing your hair down, you can enjoy glimpses of the glass's beauty
peeking through your hair.
Since each piece has such a simple design, wearing the earrings and necklace
together won't feel like "too much," and instead creates an elegant sense of unity.
They go well with casual outfits like T-shirts, and they hold their own gracefully
even alongside a crisp collared shirt, giving off a poised, refined look.

HARIO Lampwork Factory is
a handmade glass brand created by HARIO, the long-established
Japanese maker of heat-resistant glass.
"Lampwork," as referenced in the brand name, is a traditional glasswork technique
in which glass is heated by a burner's flame and shaped by hand by craftsmen.

HARIO is well known for kitchen and tableware items
such as coffee equipment and dishware,
but originally, at the time of the company's founding, craftsmen made
scientific glassware and tableware one piece at a time, entirely by hand.
As demand grew, machine manufacturing advanced for the sake of efficiency, and handwork by craftsmen steadily declined.
However, this also meant that the tradition of handcrafted work by artisans would be interrupted, making it impossible to
develop new techniques and new products through planning and design.
Amid this situation, with a desire to return to their roots and deliver works carefully crafted by glass artisans,
and to pass down the techniques of handcrafting to the next generation,
HARIO Lampwork Factory was launched
with exactly that kind of spirit.

The craftsman faces the flame, shaping the heated glass piece by piece,
freely transforming its form. It makes you feel that this is truly what it means to create something—
the glasswork comes together with such speed and precision that it's remarkable to watch.
There is a beauty and a strength to be found in glass, such a delicate material.
The poised feeling you sense alongside the tension of its translucence
seems almost like a mysterious power that glass itself gives us.
Through the experience of wearing glass, we hope you'll feel
the passionate dedication of the craftsmen behind it.
