From STANDARD SUPPLY, a bag brand that's popular here at ZUTTO too, comes a new chambray fabric. These pale blue bags have a light, refreshing feel that's perfect for the warmer months. Here we introduce three bags in different shapes to suit different uses, along with pouches in three sizes.

This spring/summer's limited-edition color is pale blue chambray

To bring a sense of lightness to the warm spring and summer months, ZUTTO planned this pale blue chambray.

Chambray is a plain weave fabric made by combining a pale blue warp thread, dyed before twisting, with a white weft thread. This time, among plain weaves, we chose an oxford weave, and by using yarn-dyed thread, the color takes on a texture that seems to rise up from the surface.

The STANDARD SUPPLY items already available at ZUTTO use a fabric called 64 cloth, made of 60% cotton and 40% nylon, but this chambray has been changed to a ratio of 45% cotton and 55% nylon. In addition, by adding Cordura fiber—which is even stronger than nylon—the material has been made more resistant to friction and abrasion, evolving into a fabric that's less likely to tear.

The chambray's coloring, with white peeking through here and there, feels wonderfully refreshing, as if expressing a blue sky and white clouds. To keep things grounded, we used black glove leather for the handles, tags, and zippers, creating a balanced item that doesn't feel overly sweet.

STANDARD SUPPLY is known for its combination of simplicity and outstanding functionality. At the same time, that high level of functionality has, in truth, sometimes given the brand a somewhat masculine feel. So this time, by making the sizes a bit smaller and using a refreshing color, we've created bags that are easier to pair with more casual fashion and comfortable to carry in the warmer months. The difference in material and the coloring of the chambray create a new brand image, distinct from STANDARD SUPPLY's previous offerings.

Four items that showcase the chambray

①WEEKEND SHOULDER S CHAMBRAY

First up is the WEEKEND SHOULDER S CHAMBRAY, a bag that's perfect for days off. In this new chambray color, we made it in a size one step smaller than the standard version.

Comparison with the standard-size【exclusive order】WEEKEND SHOULDER BLUE-GREY. The shoulder pad has also been removed, making it more compact.

Making the bag one size smaller expresses the light, airy image of the chambray in the bag's very size. At the same time, the minimalist functionality that defines the WEEKEND SHOULDER remains fully intact.

There's a large zippered pocket on the front, and inside, a divided pocket and one large Velcro pocket. It's also equipped with a hook for attaching keys. To allow for somewhat heavier items to be carried, urethane foam has been built into the base to prevent the bag from losing its shape.

The standard WEEKEND SHOULDER has a shoulder pad attached to its strap, but starting with this S size, the shoulder pad has been removed, leaving a simple shoulder strap. This gives the bag a cleaner look when worn over the shoulder. And if you're packing for travel and need to fit it into a large carry-on bag, you can tuck the shoulder strap inside for compact storage.

It's a small bag, but with plenty of gusset depth, it can even hold a plastic bottle. Whether as a bag for days off, for cycling, for walks, or for travel, it's a bag that adapts freely to however you want to use it.

②B TOTE/XS CHAMBRAY

This handbag-style B TOTE/XS CHAMBRAY is made in the chambray fabric as part of the XS series, which we asked the maker to produce in a smaller size. Even at this compact size, there are many details focused on ease of use.

The "STANDARD SUPPLY" logo name and the handle are both unified in black glove leather. The leather gives a crisp, grounded finish to the otherwise soft-looking chambray fabric. Because the handle is made of leather, there's less concern about wear from the weight of your belongings, and you can also enjoy watching the leather age gradually as you use it. Beyond functionality, this is a piece you can enjoy for years, both in how it performs and in how its appearance changes over time.

There are also leather loops on both sides of the bag. These loops aren't just a design accent—if you attach a shoulder strap of your own, you can use the bag as a shoulder bag. *Please note that a shoulder strap is not included with the product.

By adding several rows of hidden tape and stitching along the vertical lines on the inside, the bag has been designed to stand up on its own. The interior construction follows that of the classic B TOTE, with a deep hanging pocket included. The pocket has a hook fastener, and by attaching it to the hook on the opposite side of the pocket, it also functions as a flap. Items with some depth, like bento boxes or water bottles, can be stored easily, and since the bag stands on its own, it won't tip over—a great feature. Closing the flap also makes it convenient for keeping the contents out of view.

③STAND UP 2WAY TOTE CHAMBRAY

The STAND UP 2WAY TOTE is a large-sized bag that can be used two ways. Among the chambray items, it's the largest in size, and it's a bag overflowing with the high functionality that only STANDARD SUPPLY can offer.

With a gusset of about 20cm and a height of about 41cm, this bag is made quite large, yet it's characteristically very light for its appearance. This is thanks to the cotton and cordura nylon fabric used for the body. The front features two divided pockets with a hook for attaching keys. When you open up the main body wide, you'll find pockets with ample depth on all four inner sides.

The STAND UP 2WAY TOTE CHAMBRAY can be carried by its handles or worn over the shoulder. Women with fewer belongings can even wear it crossbody as a shoulder bag. When held, it naturally takes on a relaxed, softened look, while the freshness of the chambray also creates a sporty impression.

The STAND UP 2WAY TOTE CHAMBRAY is a tote bag that can also be carried on day trips or overnight travel. It can comfortably fit thick towels and bulky clothing items. By making good use of the inner pockets, and further using a pouch or small bag for organizing, you can carry your belongings around in a well-arranged state.

④SQUARE POUCH CHAMBRAY S／M／L 

And this time, joining the lineup as new additions are three sizes of pouches named SQUARE POUCH.

With a glove leather nameplate set against the chambray fabric on the front, this pouch is an item where the contrast between the material and color is clearly visible.

The Excella zipper, the series' iconic feature, has been made slimmer than the one used on the bags, serving as an elegant accent to the simple pouch. Since the zipper opens firmly to both left and right, the pouch can be opened wide, and there's a back pocket on the inside. To make it easier for you to choose according to your needs, we've prepared the pouch in three sizes: S, M, and L.

The S size is perfect for holding essentials like small creams, thin bandages, or everyday medicine. It's also great for keeping cards and keys together. Since the pouch itself doesn't take up much space, it's useful for organizing the inside of your bag.

The M size can hold items with a bit more bulk. It can gather together cosmetics you always carry, as well as slightly bulkier items like earphones and charging cables. Since it's large enough to hold a passport, it's also great as a pouch for valuables when traveling.

The L size is large enough to hold a full set of cosmetics and toiletries. It can even fit longer items like combs, creams, and razors, making it recommended not only as a daily must-have item but also as a pouch for business trips and travel.

Caring for Chambray

The four chambray items, made with fabric resistant to friction and fraying, are perfect bags for everyday outings. The use of leather further increases durability, and the material develops more luster the more it's used.

◆Before Use

・Especially in areas where the shoulder bag's body comes into contact with clothing, friction may cause color transfer onto light-colored items (particularly white). Please avoid wearing light-colored clothing with the bag, especially when it's new.

◆Everyday Care

・After use, remove your belongings and store the bag in a shaded place.

・If it gets wet in the rain, wipe away the moisture immediately.

・The product has been treated with water-repellent finishing, but this effect will diminish with repeated use. Regularly spraying it with a commercially available water-repellent spray will help maintain the water-repellent effect.
