 Accessories that ZUTTO believes should accompany everyday life

When deciding what to wear today, most people start with clothing. Even on rainy days, you might begin with footwear, but rarely does anyone start with accessories. In other words, accessories that pair easily with any outfit are surely the most practical to have. We asked the brand staff member who usually plans ZUTTO's original wear why they decided to plan an "accessories" line this time.

Brand staff: It started from wanting to create "delicate, layerable accessories." They suit anyone, and don't feel out of place even when worn on both hands. And having many types to choose from means you can pick according to your mood that day, which is fun in itself.

Also, looking at customer responses to the special-order rings we offered last year and again this summer—though not a ZUTTO original—I felt there was surely a demand for easy-to-wear accessories like rings. That said, when sizes are limited, customers can't try them on, which understandably makes people anxious. This ring set was planned with the hope of addressing that concern.

So that you can choose a ring to match the mood of your outfit that day, we prepared a range from delicate to bold designs. While keeping a unified overall feel, each ring has its own distinct design, creating a subtle harmony as an ensemble.

The concept behind the rings is:

The concept for the earrings, on the other hand, is:

"Like pierced earrings" is a key point. With clip-on earrings, the fittings inevitably make the design heavier and more substantial than pierced earrings. That can be lovely in its own way, but I felt that a simple construction like pierced earrings would suit a wider range of people, which led to this design. Listening to people around me lately, I've heard from some who don't have pierced ears, and yet the designs they actually want tend to be pierced-earring styles.

So this time, we made earrings that don't look like typical clip-ons at first glance—more like pierced earrings or ear cuffs that you can wear casually. Since they work in three different ways, I think they'll greatly expand the range of ear styling on their own.

Made by craftspeople in the old downtown area of Tokyo 

Based on the staff member's vision, it was craftspeople from Tokyo's old downtown, around Taito Ward, who actually brought these accessories to life. This area, in fact, has been a hub for costume jewelry making since the Showa era.

There are parts manufacturers here that even export to major French fashion houses, thanks to the meticulous craftsmanship unique to Japanese artisans. The earrings and rings made for this collection are brass plated with gold or silver—different from what's called 18-karat gold—yet it's no exaggeration to say that the high quality and delicate detail achieved here comes from the hands of these skilled craftspeople.

64 possible combinations. Rings to enjoy according to your mood 

With four rings, each with a different mood, you can choose which one to wear, wear just one alone, or combine several together… simply from the combinations alone, there are as many as 64 possibilities. Pair them with your favorite outfits and enjoy experimenting with combinations. Each ring's handmade texture adds to its value, and though every ring is different, together they achieve an exquisite harmony.

・Wide type:

Adding one ring with volume gives your look a sense of definition. The hammered texture bends the light so that the volume doesn't feel out of place, blending in while pulling the whole look together.

・Square ring:

A round hammered line with a square silhouette. The space created by the corners gives it a stylish nuance.

・Ring with strung round beads:

The most delicate of the designs, showcasing the craftsperson's skill. Its shape, different from the others, adds rhythm to the overall look.

・Omega-shaped Swarovski ring:

This ring also features hammered detailing. The space within the omega shape provides balance, while the sparkling Swarovski crystal serves as an accent.

Another point worth noting is that both silver and gold versions are available. Generally, accessories look more cohesive and polished when you match everything to either silver or gold, but by deliberately combining pieces of different colors, they blend more easily with your clothing. If you want to wear gold earrings but also want to put on a silver ring or bangle, this set plays a supporting role like a cushion, helping bridge the two.

The size is free size. While minor adjustments are possible, because of the delicate construction, please avoid applying force to it frequently, and use it on whichever finger fits well without making major size changes.

At first glance, this 3-way earring could easily be mistaken for a pierced earring. That's no accident—it's deliberately made without the typical earring hardware. This is one of the key features of what the brand's designer envisioned as a "pierced-earring-like" clip-on earring. It's simple, like a pierced earring, keeping only what's essential to the design. We recommend it to anyone looking for a simple earring.

Another thing that tends to bother people about clip-on earrings is the pressure they put on the ears. There's a saying that "beauty is pain," but if you can't get through the day comfortably, it's hard to keep wearing something for a long time. This earring was designed like an ear cuff, so it requires no hardware fitting, resulting in a design that puts no strain on your ears. 

A simple construction. The small shell pearl attached to it is also quite charming.

Although it has no hardware, it gently grips your ear, so there's no need to worry about it falling off. Our staff actually wore it throughout the day and found it so light they forgot they had it on—yet it never came loose. It may fall off if you press your ear against a cushion or engage in vigorous exercise, but otherwise you can go about your day as usual without worrying much about it.

This earring gives a different impression depending on which direction you wear it and whether or not you attach the gold part. You can layer it with earrings or pierced earrings you already own, or thread the gold part onto a chain to wear it like a necklace.
