A new carpet born from traditional techniques

Yonezawa-Dantsu / Takizawa-Kobo was founded in Yonezawa City, south of Yamagata Prefecture, and is a workshop of “Dongdun”, a high-density hand-woven carpet.
This area has been famous for silk fabrics since the time of the Yonezawa clan, and Takizawa Kobo began its business with the assembly and maintenance of silk fabric looms. Every time a difficult weaving or large carpet order is received, the high technology of inventing and creating a loom on its own is recognized, and it is delivered to the prime minister's official residence during the period of high economic growth. In the past, large carpets were the mainstream, but based on the idea of “making carpets that fit the current lifestyle”, we started making new carpets with the keyword “small carpets”. It is a valuable workshop that can consistently manufacture, sell and maintain carpets.
