This "Nabe Wan" was made by special order from Rokurosha. As the name suggests, it is a bowl for nabe dishes. Many people use bowls as serving plates for nabe. However, when it comes to a pot with many ingredients, they may often feel a little small. To solve such inconvenience, we made NABE WAN wide and a little shallow. It is also suitable for larger small bowls for simmered dishes, etc.
Special order form only for ZUTTO
This lacquer bowl uses zelkova wood for the wood base, over which lacquer is applied.Lacquer is the sap that comes out when the urushi tree is scratched, and the more it is used, the more it tastes good.Because it is a natural material, each piece is unique, just like people, and no two pieces are exactly alike. Therefore, even if the same process is performed, the amount of time and effort required differs from one item to another, but there is no difference in the high level of perfection, and the item is still made with care and attention to detail.
Wiping lacquer gives the impression of warmth by allowing the grain of the wood to be seen. The grain expression differs depending on the wood, so it is easy to feel that the bowl is unique and special.
Wiping lacquer: Raw lacquer is applied to the bowl and wiped off repeatedly to finish it.
Wiped lacquer: Black lacquer is produced by adding iron and heat to the raw lacquer material and stirring it to produce a blackish color.Like raw lacquer, the process of repeatedly coating the bowl and wiping it off is repeated to finish it.
Nabewan will please even those who already have standard bowls, and is recommended as a gift for celebrations such as weddings.
