Woven from Peruvian cotton, this sashiko fabric features a two-layered construction, created by a technique that raises the warp threads, creating a handcrafted pattern. Despite its appearance reminiscent of martial arts uniforms, it's lightweight and supple, while also offering long-lasting durability. The delicate, long-fiber cotton, borne of the unique climate of Peru's Piura region, is characterized by its moderate thickness and striking texture. Its soft feel, without any stiffness even when new, allows it to immediately conform to the body. Meanwhile, Zimbabwean cotton is strong yet surprisingly soft, retaining the natural texture of the cotton fibers. The texture deepens with wear, allowing you to appreciate its changing patina over time.

These two fabrics are joined together vertically, creating a patchwork-like structure. The subtle curves of each strip create a puffy, balloon-like shape when assembled. The seams are accentuated with piping, highlighting the flowing lines from top to bottom, bringing vertical beauty to the garment. The exposed seam allowances and piping design create a unique atmosphere evoking the warmth of handcrafted work. A unique atmosphere created by your own hands

The predecessor of the brand was a boutique that started in 1978. It originally started as a store that sold purchased clothes, but in 1983, the company changed its policy to manufacture all of its products in-house, built a factory behind the store, and launched the brand "FACTORY", which develops original clothing.

The brand started with a single sewing machine, and as more and more people joined, they continued to make clothes that fit the customer's body. In 1990, they went overseas in search of materials and established a dyeing workshop, wanting to make more original products. Although they are small, they continue to make clothes with a particular attention to detail, and the current form of creation was born, in which they handle all of the planning, material development, manufacturing, and production themselves.

All of FACTORY's design patterns are created in a design atelier in Tokyo. Staff members who have gained experience in collection brands and have practiced pattern making create all the shapes using three-dimensional cutting, and by sewing samples many times, they create one-of-a-kind clothes that are "comfortable to wear and not bound by trends" and "simple but a little unique". Then, based on the patterns they create, they create clothes at their own factory in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. In addition to cutting and sewing, they are particular about the work of "dyeing" the products and raw materials at the attached dyeing factory. The manufacturing style that is carried through is such that the atmosphere of Ashikaga, a region that has a history of specializing in textile manufacturing, is reflected in the clothes.
