Hammered Tin Kit

NOUSAKU is a renowned maker of tinware, building on casting techniques from Takaoka copperware with a 400-year history. The hammered tin kit was created to let you enjoy these traditional techniques at home. The tin kit is compact and easy to handle, making it ideal for home crafting. Once finished, it’s perfect for iced coffee, tea, or chilled sake.

Chizu Cedar Coaster

Wajima Kirimoto, with over 200 years of experience in wood and lacquer in Wajima, Ishikawa, has specially crafted this coaster using cedar from Chizu, Tottori, and finished with urushi lacquer in Wajima. Chizu cedar, grown slowly in snowy mountains, features tightly packed grain. The coaster uses straight-grained wood, is just 4mm thick, and is surprisingly light. The surface is treated with “uzukuri” brushing, which compresses the softer parts of the cedar, creating a fine, durable texture.

The beautiful wood grain is enhanced by the basic “fuki-urushi” (wiped lacquer) technique. Lacquer is applied directly to the carefully prepared wood, then wiped off with cloth before it dries, repeating the process for a flawless finish. These coasters are perfect for tea or drinks, and the lacquer finish means they can also be used as small plates for snacks or sweets.
