Yamagata Prefecture's Yamabe Town developed its textile industry because many farmers raised silkworms, and the government encouraged sheep farming as a rural sideline. Households supplemented their income by spinning yarn and other crafts. While numerous knitwear manufacturers once existed here, the number of factories declined as overseas production increased. Amidst this shift, Yonetomi Textile Co., Ltd., founded in 1952, continued knitting sweaters while honing its advanced knit textile development techniques.

From material development to product creation and mass production, everything is handled consistently at their own factory in Yamabe Town. Hearing of new materials, they pioneer their adoption and actively pursue new product development. Driven by the desire to create quality goods in a positive environment with joy and enthusiasm, they introduced the first knitting computer and have developed various textiles daily.
