This eye-catching, round tray from the KITO series was named "so that you can spend your daily life with wood." With a diameter of 380mm, it's large enough to hold a main dish and arrange it on the dining table, or it can easily be used as a serving tray.
The zelkova wood grain and subtle decoration create a serene scene just by placing it on the dining table. The flat, wide surface provides stability even when multiple plates are placed on it, making it a reliable tool for carrying a main dish and side dishes all together. You'll find yourself reaching for it more and more in various situations around the house, whether you're using it to hold a breakfast plate, pasta for lunch, or to organize your tea utensils when guests come over.
"Rin" and "Yura"
The orishiki trays crafted by Aizawa Woodcraft are carefully selected with the discerning eye of a woodworker, and then carefully dried and processed before being finished. The design is understated, highlighting the zelkova's vibrant grain and color. The natural beauty of the wood is brought to the forefront.
The "Rin" and "Yura" have different rim shapes. The "Rin" has a somewhat classical rim, and when paired with subdued dishes such as soup bowls and Japanese plates, it creates a dignified dining table. The "Yura" has an impressive rim with soft curves. It pairs well with Western plates and glassware, creating a light and airy atmosphere when food is placed on it. The raised base makes it easy to use as a tray.
The glass veneer finish makes it resistant to moisture and oil, a concern for everyday use, and simply wipes it clean. Though made of solid wood, the finish allows for a casual, everyday lifestyle. Enjoy the changing grain of the wood as you use it, making it a long-lasting tool that adds a touch of calm to your dining table.
As a serving tray or a piece to add a touch of style to your everyday life, this round tray is versatile and will gradually develop its own unique character with use.
Bringing out the natural beauty of wood
Aizawa Woodcraft was founded in 1948 by Kenji Aizawa. He began as an apprentice joiner, then went independent as a woodcarver, creating boxes as a joiner and woodcarver. Since then, the company has increased the number of craftsmen and machinery, and grown into an all-round woodworker specializing in bentwood, hornbeam woodwork, and carved woodwork. They have continued to hone their joinery techniques within the traditional Wajima lacquerware craft, and have the advanced skills to handle all lacquerware woodwork except for bowls.
While working as an apprentice in lacquerware, they felt they were not fully conveying the inherent charm of each material, such as its color and pleasant feel, so all of their products are finished and crafted in a way that brings out the natural beauty of the wood. Their body-friendly wooden products, made with the user in mind, bring a sense of calm to both children and adults just by holding them.

AIZAWA Wood Works was founded in 1948 by Kenji Aizawa. Beginning as an apprentice of joinery, and he started his own company of woodworking and produced wooden boxes. Later, the company became a manufacturer that handles various wooden products, mainly wooden utensils. In order to take advantage of the original values of the wood, including the color and touch of each wood, AIZAWA Wood Works uses natural finish, such as walnut oil and beeswax, for its products.
