Inspired by College Rings

The FAIRNESS RING (pinky ring) is characterized by its nuanced craftsmanship. The motif, carved by hand, is a minimalistic interpretation of a college ring. While such plump motifs can often feel heavy, the delicate carving by artisans makes it feel incredibly light and comfortable to wear. The brand utilizes "Refined Metal," as they believe in the importance of the quality and origin of the silver and gold used in their jewelry. 5/8 STUDIOS uses materials certified by the Japan Refined Metal Association, ensuring strict standards.

Refined Metal is made from precious metals extracted from discarded items like old mobile phones and computers, transformed into high-quality jewelry. This cycle allows tools that have supported our daily lives to take on a new form and accompany us once again. Like Salt and Pepper in Cooking

5/8 STUDIOS began in 2020 in a small apartment in New York, starting with sample creation. The designer realized the importance of finishing touches in styling while working on clothing and accessories for apparel brands in New York and Tokyo. The impression of an outfit can change remarkably with the addition of jewelry. For instance, a casual look with a T-shirt and jeans can be elevated to a sophisticated vibe with just one piece of jewelry, paired with quality shoes and a leather bag. Just like the final sprinkle of salt or pepper in cooking, jewelry adds that last touch of spice to your outfit.

However, the ideal jewelry that can fulfill this role is surprisingly scarce in the market. This realization sparked the idea to launch the brand.

As the designer continued to create while learning techniques in a New York jewelry studio, requests for purchases began to come in, leading to the official start of the brand. With experience in clothing and accessory design, the designer became convinced that jewelry is not just an accessory, but a "salt and pepper" that complements, enhances, and harmonizes with fashion. Jewelry exists on the continuum of fashion design and craftsmanship, seamlessly blending into each style while bringing out individuality. This results in practical and modern designs that resonate with contemporary life.
