There are many places where weaving textiles are blessed with abundant water flowing through large rivers, but the Kako River, a first-class river, also flows in Nishiwaki City where the fabric of hatsutoki is born. Abundant water creates the beauty of the color of the fabric and brings out a color that can only be expressed on the ground.

Hatsutoki was born from the idea that “I want to unravel the fabric of Banshu Textile and convey the impression of touching it for the first time”. In pursuit of the trend, there is a desire to convey the splendor of the Banshu Textile that is comfortable to the skin while telling us what it is and where it is made and how it is made in the current situation where uniformed clothes are overflowing in the market. Shimadzu Weaving Co., Ltd., which produces hatsutoki, has been cooperating with artisans for dyeing (yarn dyeing), diameter making (yarn preparation), weaving (weaving) and finishing (texture) on the grounds of Banshu textiles for 80 years.
