From ponpindo, we will introduce a tapestry with a refreshing coloring. It can be used for various purposes, not only as a tapestry by hanging it on a wall, but also as a table runner by laying it on a table or shelf, or as a stick, so it can be used like a curtain. The simple design and vibrant colors match both Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and it is recommended as a color scheme for your room.
As a lucky charm
Swallows and clouds are drawn on the pattern. Since ancient times, swallows have been regarded as "protecting wealth by purifying evil" because they eat pests attached to agricultural products. And because of its graceful appearance, it is a lucky bird that is also used as a craft design and is also regarded as a bird of good luck. It is an item that not only brightly colors your room, but also a long-time favorite as a lucky charm.
Techniques created by the Japanese climate
"Pattern dyeing" is one of the traditional dyeing techniques in Japan. It is a technique to dye patterns using "pattern paper", which is made by carving a pattern on Japanese paper, and "glue", which is made from glutinous rice. It is said to be the most delicate pattern dyeing technique in the world. "Glue" for resist dyeing was born from the land where rice cultivation is popular, and "pattern paper" that can withstand fine pattern engraving was born supported by high quality Japanese paper making technology. Dyeing is a technique inevitably created by the Japanese climate. The dyed products created by craftsmen over time are delicious and the beauty of handicrafts.
Dyeing that expresses tradition and newness
ponpindo started in 2002 as a workshop for making household goods by designer Kosaku Ohno and the current generation of the long-established Edo-style dyeing shop "Sarakei", which was founded about 150 years ago. The brand name has the meaning of "Japan's gem (Ippin)", and products with modern designs that make use of traditional auspicious patterns have been highly evaluated both in Japan and overseas. Since its founding, we have designed and manufactured various products with excellent makers from all over Japan, focusing on dyeing. The wonderful designs and culture that have been incorporated into everyday clothing from ancient times are disappearing, but it is becoming more and more time-consuming to make meaningful things, and to make them easy to use in everyday life. .. Pompindo believes that the continuation of this small attempt will connect "tradition" to the present. Properly laborious handwork has the warmth that resides in the back of the product. Making things that convey this "temperature" is the goal of ponpindo.

Incorporating contemporary design into the handicraft created in Japan's long history, to create a form that can be used casually in everyday life. That is the product of ponpindo. There is the warmth of staying in the back of the product in handwork that takes time and effort properly, and it is the place where ponpindo aims to be the one where this “temperature” is transmitted. ponpindo is based on the dyeing shop of the Edo-style dyeing shop “Sarah”, which was founded in 1867 (Keio 3 years). Die-dyeing, of course not only in technology, but also in the patterns that have been passed down from ancient times, there are patterns that carry an auspicious and patterns that look at the other party. There is a desire of a maker and a buyer in time-consuming manufacturing, it is connected to the user, it is used carefully, and I think that manufacturing will be circulated. Rather than just continuing traditional technology, it is a brand that will be a bridge that will remain in line with the present.
