What we're introducing is a room shoe from Haflinger's "Knut" series. It is a soft series that fits snugly, and even people who prefer slippers will find it familiar and easy to try.

Haflinger is a long-established roomwear maker that has continued for more than 120 years. It started out making knitwear, stockings and the like, and today it is trusted enough, and has solid enough technique, to produce 30% of Germany's room shoes. From this company, the room shoe brand Haflinger was born in 1989.

First, what stands out is the insole. These are slippers with excellent shock absorption, ergonomically designed, comfortable on the feet and less tiring even when you stand for long hours. The instep is not too high, so they fit your feet snugly and gradually adapt to the shape of your feet.

The sole of the shoe also has a latex coating.

They don't slip even on wooden floors and are pleasant to walk in. Because they are not shallow like slippers, they don't flap even when you jog a little. Being able to spend time quietly puts less stress on you than you might expect.

Staff: "Because the import agent recommended them, and because people on staff told me they can be worn all year round except midsummer, I replaced mine when the time came. The molding of the sole in particular is distinctive, and the way they hug the foot is like nothing else, so I chose Knut.

Of course there was the fit I felt when I first tried them on, and I'm also glad that they don't come off because the upper (the part that covers the instep) is deep. I also secretly love that the stitching on the sole looks a little Tyrolean, which I find cute. Having worn wool slippers before, I can tell: they are warm in autumn and winter, of course, and you can really feel the wool's humidity regulation when you wear them. How to Choose Color and Size

[Choosing a Size]

Here are the sizes we offer.

36・・・22.5cm〜23cm
38・・・23.5cm〜24.5cm
40・・・25cm〜26cm
42・・・26cm〜27cm

Since these are slippers, we don't think you need to be too particular about choosing a size, so please think of them roughly as follows:

• Size 36→Women's S
• Size 38→Women's M
• Size 40→Men's S
• Size 42→Men's M

The upper stretches a little and adjusts to the size of your foot, so we recommend choosing your exact size.

were chosen. If you wear thick indoor socks, going up one size is also fine.

How to Choose a Color

Knut Stone Gray

When you can't decide on a color, we recommend choosing "a color that suits any season and never gets old." That might be a bright color that accents the room, a brown or gray that harmonizes with your interior, or a navy you're already familiar with. Together with wool's humidity regulation, this Knut is finished as room shoes you'll want to use all year except midsummer. Because you can wash them by hand and use them for a long time, rather than limiting them to a season with something like a "winter-ish color," a color that you'd think looks nice in a room in autumn or spring seems best.

Care Test

Haflinger room shoes can be hand-washed at home. We decided to wash a pair that had been used for one season right away. The process is quite simple.

 

1. Prepare the wash water

Dissolve neutral detergent thoroughly in lukewarm water of 30 degrees or below (a temperature that feels neither hot nor cold when you put your elbow in), following the tag instructions. Please also avoid fabric softener, as it may damage the wool.

2. Press-wash→Rinse

Press the shoe with your fingers lightly spread, then let go, and when the shoe floats up softly, press again; repeat this to remove the dirt. Washing for too long can cause the wool to shrink, so keep the time short (about 5 minutes is a guide).
※Lint may be clumped inside the slippers, so remove it from the inside before washing.

After that, rinse about twice in fresh lukewarm water so that no detergent remains.

3. Spin
Put them in a net and spin them in the washing machine for about 1 minute. You can also wrap them in a towel or net to remove the moisture.

4. Dry thoroughly out of direct sunlight
Reshape them and dry them well indoors or in the shade, out of direct sunlight. It takes 2 to 3 days to dry completely, so check all the way to the toes after they are dry before wearing.

This time, to test whether the wool would shrink, we washed only the right foot.

We were a little worried that, being wool, they might shrink somewhat, but of course they didn't, and the shape they had settled into while being worn stayed as it was. Looking at the wool on the surface, it is hard to tell with the pink Knut because it was fluffy to begin with, but when comparing before and after washing, the surface is slightly brushed up. It is only noticeable by touch, though, and the shape did not lose its form. It looks like we can wear them with a fresh feeling.

Daily Care?

When you notice dirt on the surface, brush it with a brush for wool. Since these are everyday items, we recommend washing and brushing whenever you feel like it.
