Now that October has arrived, autumn is truly here. Even when the daytime is warm, the chill of the mornings and evenings reminds us that the season is moving forward. If you're looking to add to your wardrobe now, we recommend a top that also offers protection against the cold ahead of winter.

This newly introduced original mock-neck pullover uses a fabric that the staff member in charge of planning fell in love with, and features a design subtly inspired by the kimono as its key point. The result is a pullover with a compact, clean length that still feels as warm as wearing a blanket.

▲Starting from the idea of the "kimono's front overlap," we tried out numerous patterns to come up with a design that could be worn for years to come.

While placing great importance on comfort and functionality, this pullover also features a distinctive paneled design as one of its highlights. It's a piece we created to become a new long-lasting standard pullover.

The "front overlap" panel design is the key feature

The panel on the front was born from the idea of the kimono's front opening. This distinctive design, where the body panel connects at front and back, is what sets it apart from an ordinary pullover.

Having no seam at the shoulders creates a beautiful drape and a lovely silhouette. It also means the shoulder area is smooth and easy to move in, allowing for a relaxed fit.

The cuffs are given a soft, gentle volume for a touch of charm. The cuffs, hem, and neck are all finished in rib knit, giving the pullover a casual feel that makes it easy to style in a wide range of outfits.

▲After repeated prototyping, the sizing was fine-tuned. The team actually tried on the pieces and checked for any points of concern as they moved forward.

Enjoying the contrast between the front and back surfaces

The fabric chosen for this piece, called Ultra Brush, is one the staff apparently fell in love with for its wonderful feel.

Planning staff member U: "Actually, this fabric is a synthetic fiber. When choosing fabrics, we usually tend to go with natural fibers, but this fluffy, gentle texture felt so good that I just had to use it! I planned this project hoping to create a pullover that would feel like being wrapped in this soft-to-the-touch fabric, so I'd be delighted if customers could experience that feeling for themselves."

The outer surface is knitted in a high gauge for a clean, refined look, while the inner surface has a high-density brushed finish that feels wonderful against the skin. It achieves both a beautiful silhouette and comfortable wear, and the soft, fluffy texture of the brushed side is the kind you want to keep touching. It's easy to see why the staff fell in love with it.
