  • From everyday life to travel. Comfortable enough to want to wear every day

  • All about SoupleLuz's organic cotton innerwear

We've moved on from the era of "beauty requires suffering," and now materials, design, and fit that let us feel comfortable and at ease are what matter most. Prioritizing how we ourselves feel, rather than how we appear to others, has become the norm.

Innerwear tends to be overlooked compared to the more visible "outer" fashion, but we believe true comfort actually lies there. What touches your skin belongs to a world of preferences that are yours alone. When you wear something you find good for yourself—not for anyone else—you gain a comfort that comes from within. Now that we spend more time at home, what suits the mood isn't innerwear meant to rigorously shape your silhouette, but something relaxed that lets both body and mind settle down and take a deep breath.

The brand we'd like to introduce is SoupleLuz, a Japanese innerwear brand. Their pieces carry an elegant air without being flashy, and you can sense a supple yet resilient core running through them.

The comfort, environmental commitment, and health considerations that souple luz values

SoupleLuz takes its name from two words: "Souple," meaning suppleness in French, and "Luz," meaning light in Portuguese. The founder, who had originally worked in cut-and-sew OEM production, saw a market flooded with products that prioritized low cost over material quality and texture. Wanting to create products that truly felt good against the skin, and hoping to spread the appeal of organic cotton through well-designed items, they launched the brand in 2007.

The brand aims to make "organic cotton the standard for cotton," actively using organic cotton and defoliant-free cotton in every single item.

We can imagine you thinking, "That certainly sounds good, but what exactly is so great about organic cotton?" So let us explain.

Cotton is a fiber harvested from the cotton plant, making it an agricultural product much like vegetables. It's not hard to imagine that 99% of the cotton commonly found on the market comes from cotton plants efficiently grown for mass production, raised with the use of pesticides and insecticides.

Cotton treated with chemicals ends up with stiffened fibers, and the hollow spaces within each fiber get crushed. To compensate and improve the surface feel, the fibers are then deliberately puffed up with caustic soda and similar agents during the spinning process. Cotton pushed through such harsh treatment no longer "breathes," which means it falls short not only in texture but also in water absorption and moisture-wicking properties.

Organic cotton, by contrast, has fibers that haven't been damaged in this way, so they properly hold air and breathe. Because they breathe, the fibers stay soft and fluffy with a warm feel, and because they absorb moisture well, the fabric doesn't get sticky even when you sweat. These are just a few of its many virtues.

Honestly, many organic-material products that emphasize material quality above all else seem to treat design as an afterthought. SoupleLuz, however, pays close attention to detail, creating items that carry an elegant air suited to mature women.

SoupleLuz spins its yarn, weaves its fabric, and sews its garments all in Japan—committed to manufacturing where the faces behind the work remain visible.

Having been involved in clothing production for so long, the brand places deep trust in the reliability of Japanese craftsmanship, and feels strongly about protecting both these techniques and the artisans who carry them out. And given the nature of innerwear, creating pieces that fit the Japanese body type leads directly to a more comfortable fit when worn—which is another reason the reassurance of domestic production matters so much.

A staff member on SoupleLuz: "It lets me enjoy innerwear that perfectly matches how I feel right now"

SoupleLuz innerwear has quickly become one of ZUTTO's most popular product lines over the past few years. Many of our staff are devoted fans themselves, and this time we'd like to share comments from a staff member who recently became a SoupleLuz enthusiast.

Wストラップショーツ(NAVY)

Staff member M: "I hadn't really used padded camisoles much before. Personally, I like choosing innerwear that lifts my own mood—something with a design and fit that makes me feel like standing up straight, like flipping a switch to 'on.' But as I started spending more time at home, with work and other tasks happening at home or nearby, the need to clearly separate 'on' and 'off' through my appearance faded away. That's when I decided to try SoupleLuz innerwear, something I'd long thought looked lovely.

Bra Pad Camisole NAVY, Double Strap Shorts NAVY

I chose the Bra Pad Camisole in NAVY along with the matching shorts. I had already found the soft texture of the organic cotton and the delicate, healthy look appealing, and this shift in my lifestyle became the perfect opportunity to try it. I also love the V-neck, which stays hidden under clothes but still properly covers the chest area. Actually wearing it, I felt the same kind of lift in spirits you get from dressing up.

ブラパットキャミソール(NAVY)

It has a delicate, high-quality look, like something a simple, sophisticated European woman might casually wear as everyday clothing. I agonized over the color, but ended up choosing navy. Lately, I've been traveling more often with friends and family, and I've had more and more moments where I'm glad I own this inner top.

When traveling, I want to cut down on luggage, and I worry about whether underwire bras or delicate lace lingerie will get crushed or caught when packed differently than usual. This is where the bra-pad camisole comes in handy—since the bra and camisole are combined into one piece, it means less luggage, and even if it does get slightly compressed, it won't lose its shape.

What's more, it was nice to feel confident in situations where your underwear might be seen by others, like at a large communal bath or pool. I know most people probably don't pay much attention, but since it's a special occasion, it's best to choose an updated inner item and enjoy your trip with peace of mind. When it's hot after a bath and you throw on a robe, it's also nice to just wear the bra-pad camisole underneath on its own.

The hold around the band isn't especially strong, so the fit is quite relaxed. If you have a fuller bust, I'd recommend sizing up.」

A lineup that lets you enjoy mixing and matching camisole, bra, and shorts

*The lemon color is sold out

As for the item lineup, there are three types: the bra-pad camisole, the soft bra, and the double-strap shorts. It's fun to mix and match colors between the top and the shorts.

The seasonal color "Chestnut" has arrived.

While retaining the gentle feel of Supima organic cotton against the skin, it's characterized by a beautiful, plant-derived hue. It's a rich, elegant brown that seems almost too good to keep as underwear. Though chestnuts are in season in autumn, this basic, beautiful color can be worn year-round.

The brand's number one bestseller: the bra-pad camisole

ブラパットキャミソール(NAVY)

The "camisole with built-in bra cup," once thought of purely as a relaxing inner layer to wear at home, is now commonly worn as an inner top for going out. Compared to combining a bra and camisole, having just one strap over the shoulder is of course more comfortable, but what's great about this bra-pad camisole from SoupleLuz is that it doesn't lead to that strange feeling of guilt, like "maybe this looks too casual?"

Despite being relaxed, it gives an elegant, refined impression without feeling too casual. The glossy texture of the organic cotton fabric and the beautiful line of the V-neck play a part, but so does the beauty of the shoulder straps and the piping around the neckline, which also contribute to that elegance.

Since it's a seamless camisole with no seams around the torso, there's no bunching, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin. A key point is the attention to detail—circular knit fabric is used not just for the body but also for the inner lining that supports the cups. It's the kind of comfortable fit that makes you want to keep wearing it.

A gentle soft bra with minimal constriction

The soft bra is wire-free, with a gentle elastic band underneath for comfort. The band is wide, giving it a stable, secure hold. The shoulder straps are adjustable, but there's no hook for adjusting the band, making for a simple design that's complete just by pulling it over your head.

The beautiful V-line at the chest is lovely, and on top of that, the thin, glossy straps add a feminine touch. Just like with the bra-top camisole, it's these small details that give it that "relaxed yet elegant" impression.

Double-strap shorts with an added design touch

*The lemon color is sold out

These are grown-up shorts featuring two straps at each side of the crotch area. The seam allowance has been reduced to prevent discomfort, and there's no tight constriction, making for a gentle wearing experience.

Plain cotton shorts can sometimes feel a bit plain, but it's surprising how much a small design touch can change that impression. We hope you'll pair these double-strap shorts with the bra-pad camisole or soft bra in a matching color.

The bra-pad camisole, soft bra, and double-strap shorts all come in a gift box. Since underwear is such a personal item, you'll want to consider who you're giving it to, but as a special gift for a sister, close friend, or someone you trust deeply, it could be a wonderful way to express that closeness.
